How to Measure for a Leotard
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Do not pull the tape too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.
Height
Stand straight without shoes and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
For leotards, girth is one of the most important measurements because it reflects the dancer's full torso length. If your measurements fall across different sizes, pay particular attention to girth. Dancers with a longer torso will often be more comfortable in the larger size.

The YUMIKO Tamara Camisole Ballet Leotard in Iris pairs a clean classical front with delicate strap detailing and a low, curved back. Smooth Iris Techni fabric meets pale Misty Rose Techni trim, bringing a gentle contrast to the neckline and fine straps. Front lining and a high-cut leg complete this very light, breathable colourway for dancers who prefer a softer sense of hold.
YUMIKO Tamara Camisole Ballet Leotard – Design & Performance
Tamara begins with a softly curved scoop neckline and slender camisole straps. The uninterrupted Iris front keeps the silhouette simple, while Misty Rose edging defines the neckline and arm openings. Both the body and trim have a smooth finish, so the contrast comes from colour rather than an added mesh or velvet texture.
At the back, the fabric drops into a generous low curve. A fine horizontal strap spans the upper back and meets the shoulder straps, with short connecting straps creating small geometric details at the sides. The pale trim follows the edges of the opening, giving definition to a design that leaves much of the back exposed without using crossed straps or a mesh panel.
The Techni body contains 87% polyamide and 13% elastane and feels very light and breathable in wear. Light compression and support create a gentle, body-following fit rather than firm hold. The sleeveless shape leaves the arms free, while the high-cut leg sits higher at the hip to complete the ballet silhouette.
Although this version is front lined, the fine Iris fabric still offers light coverage and can be slightly see-through. The additional layer through the front does not make it fully opaque. This is separate from the deliberately open back: both the fabric coverage and the placement of the back opening are worth considering when choosing the style.

Eligible items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt for EU orders, or 40 days for UK and other non-EU orders. Items must be in their original, resaleable condition, with tags and packaging. Product exclusions apply.
