CH792 is one of those useful shoes that refuses to stay neatly in one box. It has the simple, classic appearance of a character shoe, but its suede sole gives it the smoother floor response we associate with Ballroom practice footwear. If your dancing crosses disciplines, that versatility can be genuinely useful.

So, suede or leather?
This is where CH792 feels noticeably different from CH50 and CH52. Their leather soles give a firmer, more traditional character-shoe response; CH792's suede provides more controlled glide and makes turns feel easier. Neither is better - they're simply different tools for different dancers and choreography.

We've found that some customers simply want a comfortable, plain dance shoe for social Ballroom without the sparkle, satin or price point of a more traditional Ballroom style. CH792 makes a very sensible alternative: secure strap, manageable heel, cushioned feel and, most importantly, a proper suede dance sole.

Keep a suede brush in the dance bag.
Suede soles change with use. Dust and compressed fibres can make them progressively smoother, so an occasional gentle brush helps lift the nap and restore the floor response. It's a tiny bit of maintenance that makes quite a difference.
