Soft, breathable and beautifully close to barefoot, the So Danca MD21 Vegan Foot Glove combines minimalist contemporary footwear with a completely vegan turning surface.
The stretch upper wraps closely around the forefoot, five individual openings allow the toes to move naturally, and a padded vegan micro-suede pad protects the ball of the foot through turns and floorwork. An additional instep elastic adds security without taking away from MD21's light, second-skin feel.

The softer vegan foot glove. MD21 keeps the barely-there character dancers want from contemporary footwear but adds a little more comfort into the equation. The breathable stretch upper feels light across the foot, while the padded micro-suede turning surface and instep elastic give it a slightly softer, more secure personality than the most minimal foot gloves.
Tan keeps the finish warm, neutral and naturally barefoot-inspired.
So Danca MD21 Vegan Contemporary Half Shoe – Design & Performance
MD21 begins with a flexible nylon-spandex upper designed to contour closely around the forefoot. Its lightweight, breathable construction keeps coverage minimal while allowing the foot to articulate freely through pointing, flexing and travelling movement.
Five individual openings leave the toes free rather than enclosing them inside a conventional half shoe. This allows more natural toe separation and spreading, preserving an important part of the barefoot experience during balance, weight transfer and floorwork.
Under the ball of the foot sits MD21's defining feature: a padded vegan micro-suede forefoot pad. It provides protection from direct floor friction while creating the grip-to-glide relationship needed for turns, without using a traditional suede leather sole.
An additional elastic across the instep helps keep the foot glove closely positioned during movement. It is a small detail, but an important one for dancers who like the freedom of a foot glove while wanting a little more reassurance that it will stay connected through turns and directional work.

MD21 isn't simply MD18 with the leather removed. The padded micro-suede forefoot and additional instep elastic give it a slightly more cushioned and held feeling, while the five openings preserve the natural toe freedom we like in this style of contemporary footwear.
We particularly like the balance between protection and breathability. There is enough material beneath the forefoot to make repeated turns and floor contact more comfortable, without turning MD21 into something that feels like a conventional shoe.
Our overall impression: choose MD21 when you want a vegan foot glove with a little more comfort and security built in. It retains the barefoot line and articulation of the category while feeling reassuringly protected through the working part of the foot.
