CH62 has a little more theatre about it. The 2.5" heel creates a stronger stage silhouette, but look underneath and you'll see why it doesn't feel quite as intimidating as the height might suggest, that heel widens towards the floor to create a more generous base. Black is the classic backstage-to-curtain-call choice, while Caramel gives the leg a softer, beautifully warm finish.

The defining feature of CH62 is its 2.5" shaped flared heel. As the heel broadens towards the floor, the contact area becomes more generous, creating a reassuring platform beneath the dancer while still giving the leg the longer, more theatrical line associated with a higher character heel.
The smooth synthetic leather upper keeps the silhouette clean and polished, while an adjustable instep strap helps hold the foot securely in position. Inside, soft cushioning makes the shoe considerably friendlier during long rehearsals, teaching days and repeated show runs - because stage shoes rarely stay on for only the length of the number.
Underfoot, the full leather sole gives CH62 a traditional character-shoe response. The scored forefoot provides traction against the floor while maintaining the structured feel expected from this style of stage shoe. Overall, Callista feels more substantial than an ultra-flexible practice shoe, but with enough give to become increasingly comfortable as the shoe settles through wear.

Don't look only at the heel height.
CH62 is 2.5", but its flared heel gives you a broader base beneath the foot than a slimmer heel of the same height. Two character shoes can measure exactly the same on paper and feel surprisingly different once you start dancing.
Ready for more heel, but not quite 3"?
CH62 sits in a very useful place. You get noticeably more stage line than a 1.5" or 2" shoe, while the flared base keeps the step up feeling relatively approachable. For dancers building confidence in higher character heels, that's a rather nice combination.
Caramel deserves a little love.
Black will always be the stage classic, but Caramel can create a beautifully uninterrupted line through the leg, particularly with warmer-toned tights or bare legs. As always, if you're buying for college, an exam or a production, check the required colour before falling in love with one.
Higher heel = fit matters more.
Don't solve uncertainty in a higher character heel by buying the shoe unnecessarily loose. Your heel should stay securely positioned and the foot shouldn't slide around inside the shoe. A well-fitted 2.5" heel gives you much more confidence than a roomy one you're constantly trying to control.
