The So Danca BAE24 has been designed as a dependable first ballet shoe that provides support, comfort and durability for growing dancers. For the most accurate fit, always begin with your child's measured foot length rather than their everyday school shoe size.

• First Ballet Shoes & Younger Dancers
Approximately 1½–2 UK sizes above measured foot length usually provides comfortable growing room while maintaining a secure ballet fit.

Unlike stretch canvas, traditional woven canvas has very little natural stretch. It keeps its shape well, making it a reliable choice for regular ballet classes, but it's important to choose a comfortable size from the beginning.

The adjustable cotton drawstring allows small adjustments around the front of the foot for a neat fit. Most traditional ballet shoes are made with a universal shape rather than separate left and right feet. As the shoes begin adapting to your child's feet, many families find it helpful to mark the inside with L and R so each shoe continues moulding comfortably to the same foot.

How should traditional canvas ballet shoes fit?

Ballet shoes fit differently from everyday school shoes. Always measure your child's feet rather than using their current school shoe size.

Choose approximately 1½–2 UK sizes larger
Comfortable ballet fit with growing room

Traditional woven canvas has very little natural stretch, so it's important to choose a size that feels comfortably snug from the beginning rather than expecting the shoe to become significantly roomier with wear.
