For the best performance and comfort, So Danca TA44 Tap Shoes should fit snugly but not too tight. Here's what to look for:

1. Snug Fit: The shoes should hug your feet securely without causing any pain or discomfort. This snug fit ensures that the shoes move in sync with your feet, providing better control and stability during your dance routines.

2. No Pinching: Ensure there is no pinching or pressure points, especially around the toes and the ankle strap. The thicker ankle strap should lay flat across the top of the foot and secure comfortably without digging into the skin.

3. Toe Room: Your toes should have a little wiggle room but should not be able to move freely. A slight amount of space at the front will allow for some natural movement without compromising the snug fit.

4. Heel Comfort: The 1.25" Cuban heel should feel stable, and your heel should rest firmly against the back of the shoe without slipping. The heel should provide support without causing any strain on your feet.

5. Cushioning: The cushioned lining should offer comfort and support, ensuring that you can dance for extended periods without experiencing fatigue or discomfort.

6. Secure Fit: The buckle with elastic should allow some flexibility while ensuring the shoe stays securely on your foot. Adjust the buckle to achieve a snug, comfortable fit.

NOTE: When trying on and testing out our tap shoes we highly recommend trying them on carpet to prevent scratching the taps. Shoes returned with scratched taps will not be accepted.

Breaking In: Keep in mind that tap shoes, especially those made of leather/learher-like, may require a short break-in period. Wear them around the house or during a few practice sessions to allow the material to mold to the shape of your feet for optimal comfort.
