CH95 has an old-school rehearsal-room character that we really like. The wingtip-inspired detailing gives it a slightly vintage feel, while the low profile keeps everything practical, stable and easy to dance in.

The full genuine leather sole is the defining feature of CH95. Unlike the soft suede soles used on many Ballroom and Latin practice shoes, leather gives a firmer, more traditional response underfoot and makes this model particularly well suited to swing, musical theatre, jazz and character-based choreography.

The Oxford-style lace-up construction allows the shoe to be adjusted closely across the foot and instep. That secure fit is useful during quick directional changes and travelling choreography, while reinforced eyelets add durability around an area that naturally takes repeated tension.

Its synthetic leather upper provides more structure than the very soft microfiber construction of a shoe such as BL184, but gradually becomes more comfortable with wear. Decorative wingtip-style stitching gives the otherwise simple black shoe its distinctive vintage character.

The very low broad heel keeps the dancer close to the floor, making CH95 a useful alternative when choreography calls for the look and control of a proper dance shoe without the elevation of a traditional character heel.

Think about the choreography rather than simply heel height when choosing CH95. It works beautifully when you need to stay grounded, move quickly or rehearse for long periods without a traditional character heel.

If your main focus is Ballroom or Latin practice, we would normally choose a suede-soled practice shoe instead. CH95's full leather sole gives it a firmer, more traditional character and theatre feel - which is exactly where this shoe makes the most sense.
