Size & Fit Advice

All shoes are displayed in UK sizes. The size printed on the shoe or box may differ due to the manufacturer's international sizing system.

Children's jazz shoes should fit close to the foot with the toes comfortable and the heel securely held.

For JZ76, start approximately ½–1 UK size above the child's measured foot, depending on foot shape and the amount of growing room required.

Always measure the child's actual foot rather than sizing from everyday shoes, as school shoes and trainers may already include growing room.

Description

The So Danca JZ76 Children's Jazz Shoes are a flexible, foot-hugging favourite for young dancers progressing through jazz and musical theatre. Soft leather combines with a flexible central arch and split rubber sole, allowing the shoe to move naturally with the foot while keeping the heel comfortably secure.

Easy to slip on and beautifully lightweight, JZ76 works particularly well for regular classes, rehearsals and young dancers who are ready for the freedom and articulation of a split-sole jazz shoe.

Made for Growing Jazz Dancers

Young feet need freedom to move, but a jazz shoe still needs to stay securely connected to the foot. The JZ76 strikes a lovely balance: its flexible middle section adapts around the arch and instep, while the soft leather gradually becomes even more comfortable with wear.

Available in Black and Caramel, it works across different dance uniforms and performance looks. Black is the traditional choice for many jazz classes and schools, while Caramel creates a softer, warmer line for performance and musical theatre. Always check your dance school's required shoe colour before ordering.

Why Choose a Split-Sole Jazz Shoe?

A split-sole jazz shoe has separate sole sections beneath the forefoot and heel, leaving the middle of the shoe much more flexible. This allows the shoe to bend naturally with the foot and makes it easier for young dancers to point and articulate through the arch.

The JZ76 is particularly flexible through the middle, making it a lovely choice for developing dancers who want a close, streamlined jazz shoe without the more structured feeling of a traditional full sole.

How Should Children's Jazz Shoes Fit?

Jazz shoes should fit much closer than everyday trainers or school shoes. The toes should sit naturally without being curled, while the back of the shoe should hold the heel securely as your child moves.

Always measure your child's feet rather than using their current everyday shoe size. Everyday shoes often already contain growing room, which can make them an unreliable starting point for dance shoes.

For the JZ76, choose approximately ½–1 UK size above the measured foot
Comfortable growing room while keeping the heel secure

Quick fit check: Ask your child to walk, point the foot and rise onto the toes. The shoe should move with the foot without the heel noticeably lifting or sliding.

Dance World Size Guide is intended as a helpful starting point. Every child's feet are unique, so fit may vary depending on foot shape, width, growth and personal preference.

Choosing jazz shoes for a growing dancer doesn't need to be complicated. If you're unsure about sizing or whether a split-sole shoe is right for your child, our Dance World team is always happy to help you choose the right pair before you order.
