Before Choosing Your Size

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer foot as your starting point.

Bust / Chest Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body.

Waist Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.

Girth Start at one shoulder, measure down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back to the same shoulder in one continuous loop.

Foot Length Measure from heel to longest toe while standing. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement.

Why Does Heel Fit Matter in a Jazz Shoe?

Jazz shoes are designed to move closely with the foot. If the heel is too loose, the shoe can lift or move independently during turns, jumps and quick changes of direction, making the fit feel less controlled.

JZE45 is designed with a particularly close-fitting heel and flexible stretch middle, helping the shoe hug the foot without feeling rigid. When trying them on, ask your child to walk, point and rise through the foot – the heel should stay comfortably in place.

How Should Children's Jazz Shoes Fit?

Jazz shoes should fit much closer than everyday trainers or school shoes. The toes should sit naturally without curling, while the back of the shoe should hold the heel securely as your child moves.

Always measure your child's feet rather than using their current everyday shoe size. Everyday footwear often already includes growing room, which can make it an unreliable starting point for dance shoes.

For the JZE45, choose approximately ½–1 UK size above the measured foot

Quick fit check: Ask your child to walk, point the foot and rise onto the toes. The shoe should move with the foot without the heel noticeably lifting or sliding.
