Reisport gymnastics hand guards use different sizing ranges depending on the grip model and apparatus. First choose the chart that matches your hand guard, then measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the longest finger.
Choose the Correct Reisport Size Chart
The measuring method is shared, but the actual size ranges are different. Always use the table for your specific grip type.
Reisport LADY, SWISS & UNIVERSAL Hand Guard Size Chart
Use this chart for the corresponding Reisport women's uneven-bar hand guards.
| Grip Size | Number | Hand Measurement |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 00 | Up to 5.5" |
| XS | 0 | 5.5" – 6" |
| S | 1 | 6" – 6.5" |
| M | 2 | 6.5" – 7" |
| L | 3 | 7" – 7.5" |
| XL | 4 | 7.5" and up |
Reisport Men's SWISS / High Bar Protec Size Chart
Use this chart for the Men's SWISS and Reisport High Bar Protec hand guards. Do not use the women's uneven-bar ranges above.
| Grip Size | Number | Hand Measurement |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 0 | 6" – 6.5" |
| S | 1 | 6.5" – 7" |
| M | 2 | 7" – 7.5" |
| L | 3 | 7.5" – 8" |
| XL | 4 | 8" and up |
How to Measure for Reisport Gymnastics Hand Guards
The measurement method is the same for both Reisport charts. Use a ruler or flexible tape measure and keep the hand relaxed and naturally extended.
Check the Hand Guard Fit
Hand length gives you the starting size, but correct positioning is equally important once the grips are on.
The grip should sit neatly through the palm and fingers without excessive loose material or uncomfortable pulling.
When correctly fitted, the three finger holes should slide only to the second knuckle. They should not be pulled deeply down the fingers.
Do not choose the chart by hand size alone. First identify whether the grips are designed for Women's Uneven Bar or Men's High Bar, then use the corresponding measurement range. If the gymnast sits directly between sizes, hand proportions, finger length and coach guidance can help confirm the best fit.
Reisport hand guards should sit securely through the hand without excessive loose material. Finger openings and wrist straps should remain correctly positioned while allowing the gymnast to grip the apparatus naturally. Because the Men's High Bar and Women's Uneven Bar models use different size ranges, always match the gymnast's measurement to the specific chart for the grip being purchased.

Description
Description
A First Pair to Make Part of the Routine.
Getting a first pair of handguards can feel like a little milestone in a young gymnast’s training. The Reisport Universal Junior Handguards offer a practical option when their coach recommends introducing grips, combining flexible leather with a straightforward, adjustable wrist fastening.
Made in Switzerland, this junior design gives growing gymnasts a dedicated piece of equipment to fit, use and look after as part of their club routine.
Reisport Universal Junior – Gymnastics Handguards for Young Gymnasts
The Universal Junior model features a flexible leather palm, two finger holes and a small attached dowel. The leather forms a layer between the palm and the apparatus, while the wrist section is secured using a broad hook-and-loop strap.
The fastening can be opened and adjusted easily as the gymnast learns how to put on their grips correctly. Available in XS and S, the Universal Junior is intended for younger gymnasts whose hand measurements and training requirements suit this model.
Reisport describes the design as versatile across different apparatus. Your coach should confirm where and how to use it, taking account of the gymnast’s skills, hand size and training programme.
Flexible Leather
A pliable leather palm suited to this junior handguard design.
Designed for Juniors
Two size options help match the handguards to a young gymnast’s hand measurements.
Simple Wrist Adjustment
Hook-and-loop straps make opening, fastening and adjusting the handguards straightforward.
Swiss Made
Manufactured in Switzerland by specialist gymnastics grip maker Reisport.
A New Addition to the Gym Bag
Alongside the familiar leotard, water bottle and wristbands, a first pair of handguards soon finds its place in the gym bag. Learning to check the leather, fasten the straps and put everything away after class gives young gymnasts a small, useful role in caring for their own training kit.
Choosing a First Pair of Gymnastics Grips
Start with your coach’s recommendation. They can confirm when grips are appropriate and whether the Universal Junior suits the gymnast’s apparatus work. Measure the hand before ordering, then have the finger position, palm length and wrist fastening checked before the first session.
Introduce the handguards gradually under supervision and follow the enclosed Reisport instructions. Inspect them before every use, keep the leather dry and stop using them if the leather, dowel, stitching or fastening becomes damaged.
Product Highlight
🤸 Flexible Leather in a Dedicated Junior Design
The Reisport Universal Junior combines a flexible leather palm, small dowel and adjustable wrist strap in a compact handguard designed for young gymnasts learning to train with grips.
Why We Recommend It
A useful model to discuss with your coach when choosing a first pair. Its junior sizing and straightforward fastening make it a practical introduction to wearing and caring for gymnastics handguards.
Dance World Tip
Keep the pair together in a clearly named grip bag. After training, let the handguards air before packing them away, and keep damp wristbands separate.
