How to Measure for Mara Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body. Keep the tape comfortably against the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and do not pull it too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Mara Dancewear uses different size structures depending on the garment. For leotards, compare chest, waist, hips and especially girth. For skirts, waist and hips are the most useful measurements. For warm-up pants, use waist and hips together with Mara's height guidance to choose between XS/S and M/L.

Fine ribbing, a pale front zip and a striking rounded back opening give this supportive ballet leotard a clean finish, softened by its understated brown palette.

Aura Long Sleeve develops the signature zip-front design into a more covered studio silhouette. The high neckline and fitted long sleeves create a continuous line through the upper body, while the functional front zip lets you choose how open the neckline feels. Keep it higher for a neatly framed neck or lower it slightly for a more relaxed finish.
From behind, the design changes completely. A large rounded cut-out opens across the back, framed by pale contrast binding that makes its shape especially clear against Deep Brown. Matching pale cuffs and the contrasting zip connect the details from front to back, while the small metallic Mara Dancewear emblem adds a discreet finish below the opening.
The 78% nylon and 22% elastane ribbed fabric gives Aura its supportive, compressive character. Fine vertical ribbing adds texture without needing a print, while four-way stretch allows the fabric to follow the body through movement. This is a more held-in feel than Brisa's smooth fabric, with a close silhouette and high-cut ballet leg.
Inside, the full front lining is exceptionally soft against the skin. Made from 86% nylon and 14% elastane, it balances the firmer ribbed exterior with a comfortable inner surface and adds reassuring front coverage. The back cut-out remains completely open: the design combines covered arms and a lined front with a deliberately exposed back. Made in Spain.
