For Mara leotards, girth is one of the most useful measurements because it reflects the dancer's full torso length. If your measurements fall across different sizes, pay particular attention to girth. Dancers with a longer torso may be more comfortable in the larger size.

How to Measure for Mara Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body. Keep the tape comfortably against the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and do not pull it too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Mara Dancewear uses different size structures depending on the garment. For leotards, compare chest, waist, hips and especially girth. For skirts, waist and hips are the most useful measurements. For warm-up pants, use waist and hips together with Mara's height guidance to choose between XS/S and M/L.

Alma Short Sleeve brings a softly rounded shape to the studio. Its scoop neckline frames the collarbones, while small cap sleeves cover the tops of the shoulders without extending down the arms. Pale contrast binding follows both the neckline and sleeve edges, giving Butter Yellow a fresh, gently defined finish.
The curved underbust seam adds shape to the upper bodice while leaving the lower torso visually uninterrupted. Fine vertical ribbing provides the texture, so the design needs very little decoration. From behind, a deep scoop opens across the shoulder blades, outlined with the same pale trim and finished with a small metallic Mara Dancewear emblem. The high-cut ballet leg completes the clean silhouette.
Made in Spain, the body uses 78% nylon and 22% elastane ribbed performance fabric. It provides good compression and support, with four-way stretch that follows the body through movement. The result is a close, reassuringly held-in fit beneath the delicate-looking colour and cap-sleeve outline.
Inside, the full front lining is exceptionally soft against the skin. Made from 86% nylon and 14% elastane, it adds a comfortable inner layer and additional coverage beneath the pale yellow fabric. The front is lined rather than the entire garment, while the deep scoop back remains open.

Eligible items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt for EU orders, or 40 days for UK and other non-EU orders. Items must be in their original, resaleable condition, with tags and packaging. Product exclusions apply.
