The Reisport® Women’s Uneven Bar Grips bring specialist gymnastics construction to your bar kit. Made in Switzerland, these leather handguards combine a two-hole design with a rubber dowel and adjustable hook-and-loop wrist fastening.

Designed for gymnasts progressing through coached uneven bar training, they should be selected and fitted with your coach. Choosing the appropriate grip length and allowing time to become familiar with a new pair are essential parts of getting ready to use them.

Reisport Uneven Bar Grips: Specialist Construction for Bar Training

The leather hand section sits across the palm, with two finger holes and a raised rubber dowel near the fingertips. The dowel is secured with both glue and stitching, while the wrist cuff and hook-and-loop strap complete the grip.

The fastening allows you to adjust the wrist closure when putting the grips on. Grip length is selected separately by size: adjusting the wrist strap cannot compensate for leather that is too long or too short for your hand.

Make Preparation Part of the Routine

Before approaching the bars, there is time to organise your kit, check your equipment and listen to the next coaching cue. A familiar pair of grips belongs in that preparation. Build the fitting and equipment check into every session, giving a new pair time in supervised practice before relying on it for competition.

Choosing and Fitting Your Reisport Grips

Start with your hand measurement. Measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger, then use the Reisport sizing guide supplied for this model. Ask your coach to confirm the size before preparing or using the grips.

Check the finger position. Reisport specifies that uneven bar grips should reach only to the first knuckle nearest the fingertips. Your coach should check the finger placement, leather length and dowel position together.

Include your wristbands in the fitting. Suitable gymnastics wristbands provide a layer between the wrist and the grip cuff. Bring the wristbands you normally train in when checking the fit.

Let your coach guide the progression. Read the supplied instructions and allow time to prepare and become accustomed to the grips. Your coach should decide when you are ready to use dowel grips and which skills are appropriate during the familiarisation period.

Care That Belongs in Your Gym Bag Routine

Inspect the leather, finger holes, dowel attachment, stitching and fastening before each session. Stop using the grips if you notice damage, unusual stretching or a closure that no longer holds properly, and have your coach assess them.

Follow Reisport’s preparation instructions: do not wet the leather or cut away the dowel. Any finger-hole adjustment should be discussed with your coach and carried out only as directed by Reisport, without knives or scissors.
