This isn't a towering competition sandal pretending comfort doesn't matter. The 019 has a more relaxed kind of elegance. Its softly metallic champagne-gold leather, decorative cut-outs and traditional T-bar give it plenty of Ballroom character, while the low heel and supportive construction make it a shoe you can actually imagine dancing in all evening. It has become a particularly dependable seller for us among dancers who want to feel dressed for the occasion without feeling perched on their shoes.

Diamant 019 Gold Ballroom Shoes - Design & Performance

The defining feature of the Diamant 019 is its beautifully manageable 4.2cm Spanish heel. Lower and broader than a typical competition Latin heel, it creates a reassuring base beneath the dancer and keeps the overall stance elegant without demanding an aggressively pitched position through the forefoot.

The front of the shoe combines an open toe with a multi-piece leather vamp. This is important to how the 019 feels: rather than exposing most of the forefoot like a minimal Latin sandal, the shaped leather sections hold considerably more of the foot while still allowing the toes to sit naturally at the front. Decorative cut-outs soften the look and give the shoe its slightly vintage Ballroom character.

A traditional T-bar runs through the centre of the foot, connecting the forefoot to the adjustable ankle strap and supportive closed heel. Together they create a contained, confidence-inspiring fit that helps reduce unnecessary movement inside the shoe during turns and travelling steps.

Underfoot, Diamant's Comfort footbed adds welcome cushioning for longer sessions, while the professional suede dance sole provides the controlled combination of glide and grip needed on an indoor dance floor.

The gold leather will also gradually soften and adapt with wear. Although Diamant describes this as an F regular-width model, in our experience the 019 feels more accommodating than many slimmer Ballroom shoes, particularly through the forefoot. That is one of the reasons it works so well for dancers who find narrow Latin sandals uncomfortable.
