Bronze shimmer, a beautifully shaped flare heel and delicate crossover straps give it the look of a proper Latin sandal, but underneath sits a sole designed for dancers whose next dance might happen somewhere completely different from the last. Studio tonight, party tomorrow, outdoor event at the weekend? That's very much the 108's personality.

The feature that changes everything about the Diamant 108 is underneath the shoe. Instead of the traditional brushed leather sole found on most specialist Ballroom and Latin footwear, this version uses Diamant's VarioSpin sole - an innovative synthetic outsole developed to provide controlled glide and turning across a much wider variety of surfaces.

That means the 108 isn't tied to the dance studio. VarioSpin is designed for surfaces including parquet, wood, PVC, carpet and stone, making it particularly useful for social dancers moving between classes, parties, weddings, hotels and other venues where the floor can be unpredictable. It can also be used outdoors, giving dancers considerably more freedom than a conventional brushed leather dance sole.

And there is another practical advantage: no dance shoe brush required. VarioSpin doesn't rely on raised suede fibres for its performance, so there is no need to regularly roughen the outsole before dancing.

Above the sole, the 108 remains unmistakably Latin. A 6.5cm flare heel lifts the dancer into a more pronounced Latin position than the lower social styles we've seen, while its flared shape provides a broader contact point beneath the heel than a very slim stiletto-style construction.

At the front, six narrow straps are stitched onto a flexible supporting net, allowing the forefoot construction to adapt more naturally around the shape of the foot. Bronze brocade and metallic synthetic sections alternate across the straps, creating texture and shimmer without turning the shoe into an overly bright metallic sandal.

Two adjustable straps cross around the heel and ankle, each using Diamant's push-button fastening system for a secure but easily adjustable fit. Inside, breathable Italian microfibre helps absorb moisture and keeps the construction comfortable without adding unnecessary bulk.
