Care information

To keep your Diamant Ballroom shoes performing at their best, wear them only on suitable indoor dance floors and care for both the leather upper and chrome leather sole regularly.

Brush the suede sole regularly using a specialist dance shoe brush.
Condition the leather upper with a quality leather care product.
Use a suede brush on the nubuck sections when required.
Allow the shoes to air dry naturally after dancing.
Store with shoe trees where possible to help maintain their shape.

Description

The Diamant 089 brings proper shoemaking into the Ballroom collection. Handmade in Germany in a classic wingtip Derby design, it combines smooth nappa leather with soft nubuck and is built specifically in an extra-wide K fitting for dancers who need more room through the foot.

Underneath the beautifully traditional exterior is a very practical dance shoe: a professional chrome-leather sole, shock-absorbing 2cm heel, removable insole and breathable microfibre lining make 089 equally at home in Ballroom lessons, social dancing and longer practice sessions.

Personality

This is probably the closest we've come in the men's collection to a beautifully made traditional dress shoe. The combination of smooth black nappa leather and contrasting black nubuck, finished with subtle wingtip brogue detailing, gives 089 considerably more character than a plain black Ballroom shoe without becoming flashy.

Diamant 089 Men's Ballroom Shoes – Design & Performance

The biggest reason to choose 089 is fit. This particular version is built on Diamant's K last – its extra-wide fitting – giving broader feet considerably more room than a standard men's Ballroom shoe.

The open Derby lacing is especially useful here. Because the quarters open more freely than on a closed-lacing Oxford-style shoe, the upper can be adjusted across a fuller foot or higher instep while still creating a secure hold.

Diamant combines black nappa leather with black nubuck, allowing the shoe to retain its formal Ballroom appearance while introducing a softer textural contrast through the centre panels.

Inside, a premium Italian microfibre lining is designed to be breathable, antibacterial and moisture absorbing. The insole is also removable – a particularly useful feature for dancers who prefer to replace the standard footbed or use their own suitable insole.

Underfoot, the professional chrome-leather dance sole provides the controlled glide expected from a traditional Ballroom shoe, while the low 2cm shock-absorbing heel keeps the profile stable and grounded.

089 isn't simply a regular shoe with a little extra space added at the front. This version is built on Diamant's dedicated K extra-wide last, while the open Derby lacing gives a fuller foot additional adjustment across the instep.

Dance World Tip: If you've struggled with men's Ballroom shoes feeling tight across the forefoot or difficult to lace comfortably over a higher instep, start with 089 before simply increasing your shoe size. Choosing a genuinely wider construction can give the foot more room without adding unnecessary length.
