Before Choosing Your Size

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer foot as your starting point.

Bust / Chest Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body.

Waist Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.

Girth Start at one shoulder, measure down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back to the same shoulder in one continuous loop.

Foot Length Measure from heel to longest toe while standing. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement.

The So Danca JZ75 Children's Jazz Shoes are soft, stretchy and wonderfully easy for young dancers to move in. Made from fully elasticated stretch canvas, they wrap closely around growing feet with an almost sock-like feeling, while the split sole allows plenty of freedom through the arch and pointed foot.

Lightweight, flexible and comfortable from the beginning, JZ75 is a particularly lovely choice for regular jazz classes, contemporary, lyrical and musical theatre.

Made for Growing Jazz Dancers

The JZ75 feels quite different from a traditional leather jazz shoe. Its stretch-canvas upper gently adapts around the foot, creating a soft, flexible fit without lots of structured panels or a lengthy breaking-in period.

The split sole keeps the middle of the foot free to bend and point, while the suede forefoot pad and rubber heel give young dancers two different floor contacts: smoother movement beneath the ball of the foot and a more definite grip beneath the heel.

Why Choose Stretch Canvas for Children's Jazz Shoes?

Stretch canvas creates a soft, flexible fit that adapts naturally around the foot. Unlike a more structured leather shoe, there is very little breaking-in required, so young dancers can usually move comfortably in JZ75 from the beginning.

The stretchy construction is also particularly forgiving through the arch and instep, allowing the shoe to follow the foot as your child points, flexes and moves.

The important thing is still getting the size right. Stretch makes a shoe adaptable – it doesn't mean a larger shoe will automatically fit better. Too much extra room can allow the heel to slip as your child moves.

How Should Children's JZ75 Jazz Shoes Fit?

JZ75 should feel soft and close around the foot without squeezing the toes. The stretch canvas is naturally forgiving, so there is no need to create excessive growing room.

Always measure your child's feet rather than using their current everyday shoe size. School shoes and trainers may already include growing room and can give a misleading starting point for dance shoes.

Quick fit check: Ask your child to stand, walk and point both feet. The toes should lie naturally, the canvas should sit smoothly around the foot and the heel should remain comfortably connected without repeated slipping.
