Close, sculpted and built for turns, the Capezio Hanami Pirouette H064W is a four-way stretch canvas half sole designed to move as naturally as the foot beneath it.

Suede sole patches create a smooth working surface, exceptionally flat pleats reduce bulk beneath the forefoot, and a carefully designed dual-elastic system keeps the shoe securely aligned. The result is light, precise and beautifully clean through contemporary and lyrical movement.

The sculpted turn favourite. Hanami Pirouette feels more polished and closely fitted than a basic canvas half sole. Stretch fabric contours around the forefoot, the exceptionally flat pleats keep the underside clean, and the dual elastics create a reassuringly secure hold without covering the heel or arch.

Tan gives the half sole a warm, natural and understated barefoot-inspired finish.

The foundation of Hanami Pirouette is its four-way stretch canvas upper. The fabric adapts across both the length and width of the forefoot, allowing the shoe to follow the toes closely without feeling rigid or creating excessive loose material.

Underneath, suede sole patches provide the dedicated working surface for pirouettes, travelling turns and directional movement. They protect the high-friction areas of the forefoot while creating the controlled release dancers look for from a contemporary turning shoe.

Capezio's exceptionally flat pleats are another important detail. Traditional gathering can create noticeable ridges beneath the toes; Hanami keeps this area particularly low profile, helping the forefoot feel smoother and more integrated with the working surface.

Inside, a soft microfibre lining creates a smoother layer against the skin while preserving the close, flexible construction.

The fit is completed by two different elastics working together. A plush primary elastic provides the main hold, while a silicone-lined secondary elastic adds grip and helps keep the half sole correctly positioned around the heel and beneath the arch. The open heel keeps the overall feel breathable and unrestricted.

What stands out is how integrated the turning surface feels. The four-way stretch canvas and exceptionally flat pleats reduce the sense of wearing a separate pad strapped beneath the foot, giving Hanami a particularly neat and polished fit.

Dancer feedback repeatedly returns to comfort, secure elastics and turning. Fit reports are less unanimous, which is why we would focus on whether the suede working area sits correctly beneath the ball of the foot rather than relying only on the size printed on the shoe.

Our overall impression: Hanami Pirouette is for dancers who want the freedom of minimalist contemporary footwear but prefer a more sculpted and securely held fit than the most stripped-back foot thongs provide.
