Before Choosing Your Size

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer foot as your starting point.

Bust / Chest Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body.

Waist Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.

Girth Start at one shoulder, measure down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back to the same shoulder in one continuous loop.

Foot Length Measure from heel to longest toe while standing. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement.

The Tap Shoe That Moves Like a Jazz Shoe

Low-profile, fluid and refreshingly modern, the TA52 leaves behind the traditional Oxford shape in favour of a sleek slip-on silhouette. The TA52 combines a soft genuine leather upper with stretch neoprene panels through the sides and beneath the arch. This flexible combination allows the shoe to adapt closely around the foot, creating a smooth, glove-like fit without laces, buckles or external straps.

Its ultra-flexible split sole leaves the central arch free to move, making it easier to point the foot, articulate through the forefoot and create a more sculpted line. Unlike a structured full-sole tap shoe, the TA52 offers very little resistance beneath the arch and is therefore best suited to dancers who have already developed sufficient foot strength and control.

A reinforced hard toe box provides a firmer platform for advanced skills such as toe stands, while the low 1-inch heel keeps the overall profile balanced and close to the floor. Why It Works: The TA52 removes the rigid middle section found in a full-sole tap shoe, allowing the leather and neoprene upper to follow the foot more closely through pointing, flexing and quick directional changes.

Sound Character: Its fitted taps create a crisp, bright sound with a lighter quality than a heavy Oxford or double-sole professional shoe. The focus is on responsiveness and articulation rather than powerful tonal depth.

Training Value: This is not designed as a first tap shoe. The split sole offers very little resistance beneath the arch, so dancers need established foot strength, ankle control and a secure understanding of weight placement.

Toe-Stand Potential: The hard toe box provides the firmer platform needed for toe stands and related advanced skills. These movements should always be introduced and supervised by an experienced tap teacher.
