How to Measure for a Leotard
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Do not pull the tape too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.
Height
Stand straight without shoes and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
For leotards, girth is one of the most important measurements because it reflects the dancer's full torso length. If your measurements fall across different sizes, pay particular attention to girth. Dancers with a longer torso will often be more comfortable in the larger size.

The YUMIKO Kate Halter Ballet Leotard in Ginko brings a soft green palette to an expressive open-back design. Smooth Ginko nylon meets pale Pistachio crushed velvet trim, with a curved halter neckline, fine back straps and an adjustable tie. Lightweight and breathable, this front-lined, high-cut version is made for dancers who enjoy a gentle fit rather than firm compression.
YUMIKO Kate Halter Ballet Leotard – Design & Performance
Kate begins with a softly rounded scoop front and a slender halter strap that passes behind the neck. This creates a different shoulder line from a traditional camisole, keeping the front clean while leaving the shoulders open. Pistachio crushed velvet traces the neckline, adding a softly textured edge to the smooth, pale green nylon.
At the back, the fabric drops into a generous low curve. Fine horizontal straps cross the opening, while the adjustable back tie finishes in a delicate bow. The tie allows you to fine-tune the fit around the back; it is a functional detail as well as part of Kate's distinctive appearance. The pale trim follows the low back and side edges, giving the open silhouette gentle definition.
The nylon body contains 87% polyamide and 13% elastane. It offers a lightweight, breathable feel with light compression and light support, allowing excellent movement without a strongly held-in sensation. The high-cut leg completes the silhouette, sitting higher at the hip for a long ballet line.
This version has front lining, but coverage remains light. The additional front layer does not turn this pale Ginko colourway into a high-opacity leotard, and the back is intentionally open. Kate's appeal lies in its lightness, flexibility and delicate construction rather than substantial coverage.

Eligible items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt for EU orders, or 40 days for UK and other non-EU orders. Items must be in their original, resaleable condition, with tags and packaging. Product exclusions apply.
