Based around the familiar SD16 performance concept, this version combines premium stretch canvas with vegan micro-suede toe and heel pads, allowing dancers to choose an animal-free construction without giving up the lightweight, flexible feel they expect from a modern split sole ballet shoe.
Stocked in B medium width, the SD16VG sits closely around the foot with a smooth, second-skin feel. Pre-sewn crossed elastics keep the shoe secure, while the drawstring-free construction creates a clean finish through the topline. SD16VG Vegan Stretch Canvas Ballet Shoes - Design & Performance
The premium stretch canvas upper follows the contours of the foot, creating a close, streamlined fit while allowing natural movement through every tendu, relevé and point. The split sole construction keeps the shoe flexible beneath the arch and metatarsals, supporting excellent articulation and close connection with the studio floor.
The defining difference from the traditional SD16 is underneath the foot. Instead of conventional suede, the SD16VG uses vegan micro-suede alternative toe and heel pads, maintaining an animal-free material direction while providing the contact points required from a split sole ballet shoe.
Pre-sewn crossed elastics secure the shoe neatly across the instep, while the elasticated drawstring-free topline creates a smooth finish without cords to adjust or tuck away. The universal construction allows either shoe to be worn initially on either foot before gradually adapting through regular wear.
