Size & Fit Advice

All shoes are displayed in UK sizes. The size printed on the shoe or box may differ due to the manufacturer's international sizing system.

Neo-Flex is designed for a close, sculpted jazz-shoe fit. The toes should lie naturally and lightly meet the front without curling or restriction, while the heel should remain securely positioned during movement.

For adults, we generally recommend true to measured foot size through to ½ size up, depending on foot shape and preferred fit.

For a broader foot, fuller forefoot or higher-volume toe area, approximately ½ size up may provide the necessary room. The neoprene arch should remain smooth, and the heel must stay securely held without slipping.

For younger dancers wearing the adult size range, approximately ½ to 1 full size up can allow for practical growth, provided the shoe remains neat and secure throughout the foot.

Always begin with the dancer’s measured foot and the individual BLOCH Neo-Flex size chart, not trainers or everyday shoes. Dance World displays converted UK sizing, so the BLOCH size printed inside the shoe or on the packaging may differ from the size ordered.

Description

Sleek, flexible and beautifully connected to the foot, the Bloch Neo-Flex S0495 Leather Slip-On Jazz Shoes combine specially developed soft leather with an arch-hugging neoprene midsection. The result is a close, glove-like jazz shoe that follows the foot cleanly through pointing, turns and travelling movement.

Neo-Flex is particularly distinctive around the heel. A full heel counter brings stability, while a cut-out heel notch allows greater articulation and a new low-profile heel keeps the dancer close to the floor. EVA forefoot and heel pads complete the split sole with shock-absorbing comfort and controlled studio movement.

Bloch Neo-Flex S0495 Personality

Sculpted • Sleek • Responsive • Beautifully Connected

Neo-Flex has a sharper, more sculpted character than a relaxed jazz slipper. The Black colourway feels classic and rehearsal-ready, while Tan creates a softer continuation of the leg for performance and costuming. Both share the same neat topline and crease-resistant arch.

Bloch Neo-Flex S0495 Leather Slip-On Jazz Shoes – Design & Performance

The Neo-Flex upper is crafted from BLOCH’s specially developed soft, durable leather. It gradually settles around the forefoot with wear while maintaining the polished appearance and close fit associated with a traditional leather jazz shoe.

A flexible neoprene midsection replaces leather beneath the arch. It stretches around the curve of the foot as the dancer points, helping reduce creasing and loose material while creating a cleaner, more defined line.

Underfoot, the split-sole construction separates the EVA forefoot and heel pads so the shoe can flex freely through the middle. The forefoot pad offers shock-absorbing comfort and a controlled turning surface, while the reduced-profile heel keeps weight placement close to the studio floor.

At the back, Neo-Flex balances two details that do different jobs. A full heel counter adds stability and helps retain a secure heel position, while the cut-out heel notch allows the ankle and heel area to articulate more freely during pointing and movement.

The lower topline sits closely from heel to toe, giving Neo-Flex its characteristic glove-like fit. With no laces to adjust, the shoe remains neat during class and can be slipped on quickly for rehearsals, performances and costume changes.

Dance World Notes

The heel construction is the clever part: Neo-Flex does not simply make the back of the shoe softer. The full counter provides stability, while the cut-out notch allows articulation where the foot needs to move. This creates a more secure heel without making the shoe feel rigid.

Made to show the foot clearly: The low topline and neoprene arch keep the silhouette neat from heel to toe. This is particularly attractive for dancers who dislike loose leather gathering beneath the arch when they point.

A distinctly close fit: Neo-Flex is designed to feel sculpted rather than relaxed. The leather will settle with wear, but the toes should never be curled or painfully compressed in the expectation that the shoe will stretch enough later.

Dance World Tip – fit the complete foot, not only the arch. The neoprene section can feel accommodating around the instep even when the leather forefoot is too short or narrow. Check the toe position, widest part of the foot and heel security before deciding on the size.

Bloch Neo-Flex S0495 Dance World Fit Advice

Glove-like through the foot. Secure at the heel.

Neo-Flex is designed for a close, sculpted jazz-shoe fit. We generally recommend true to measured foot size through to ½ size up for adults, depending on foot shape and preferred fit.

The toes should lie naturally and lightly meet the front without curling or restriction. The neoprene midsection should follow the arch without loose folds, while the full heel counter should remain securely positioned during walking, pointing, rises and turns.

For a broader foot, fuller forefoot or higher-volume toe area, approximately ½ size up may provide the necessary room. The heel must still remain securely held without noticeable slipping.

For younger dancers wearing the adult size range, approximately ½ to 1 full size up can allow for practical growth, provided the shoe remains neat and secure throughout the foot.

Dance World Fit Note: Always begin with the dancer’s measured foot, not the size of their everyday shoes. Dance World displays converted UK sizing, so the BLOCH manufacturing size printed inside the shoe or on the packaging may differ from the size ordered.
