How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes

Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.

Foot Length

Key Measurement

Stand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.

Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.

Measure Both Feet

Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.

Foot Width

Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.

Measure While Standing

Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.

Check the Dance Fit

A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.

Using This Conversion Guide

This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.

Dance World Fit Note International shoe conversions are approximate and can vary between manufacturers, lasts and shoe styles. RP BAROQUE FS Pointe Shoes are part of RP’s Sea of Pearls Collection, designed with a slightly tapered box, medium crown, wide toe platform and streamlined heel. This specific product is the FS - Flexible Standard Shank version of BAROQUE.

BAROQUE combines pre-arched construction, a V2 medium vamp and a U-cut drawstring with a hand-sculpted, pleated platform. Its natural leather sole and lining made from ocean-bound plastic complete this technically precise RP pointe-shoe profile.

RP BAROQUE FS Pointe Shoes – Design & Performance

BAROQUE is a hand-sculpted pointe shoe with a slightly tapered box that narrows from the metatarsal area towards the heel. Its medium crown, wide toe platform and streamlined heel create the model’s distinct profile, while the pre-arched construction follows the line of the foot en pointe.

This page is specifically for the FS - Flexible Standard Shank configuration. The pliable FS shank is one of BAROQUE’s individual technical options and should only be selected when it matches the dancer’s professionally fitted RP specification.

RP BAROQUE FS Pointe Shoe Construction

BAROQUE uses RP’s hand-sculpted and pleated construction, with a pre-arched profile designed to follow the line of the foot. Its slightly tapered box, medium crown, wide platform and streamlined heel remain consistent across the BAROQUE model; this product differs through its FS - Flexible Standard Shank.

The Sea of Pearls Collection uses lining made from recycled materials and ocean-bound plastic, while the collection packaging contains no plastic.

Pointe Shoe Fitting, Size & Reordering Tip: BAROQUE FS must be selected in person with a qualified fitter and your teacher’s guidance. This is the FS - Flexible Standard Shank version, so always reorder using the full model name and shank specification. The size selector shows the UK size followed by its EU conversion - for example, UK 4 is EU 36. Confirm your professionally fitted size, width and FS shank before ordering. Ribbons and elastics are sold separately.

Orders are sent via GLS for European and international destinations. Tracking details will be emailed once your order has been dispatched.

A signature may be required on delivery. If you miss your delivery, follow the carrier’s instructions to arrange redelivery or collection.

Orders delivered outside the EU may be subject to local taxes, customs duties and import charges, payable by the recipient.

Returns

Eligible items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt for EU orders, or 40 days for UK and other non-EU orders. Items must be in their original, resaleable condition, with tags and packaging. Product exclusions apply.

Where our prepaid EU return-label service is available, a €10 label fee is deducted from your refund. Alternatively, you can arrange return postage at your own expense. Please contact us before returning a faulty or incorrect item.
