Care information

Break-in, not break-down: Warm the shoe with gentle roll-throughs and demi-plies; avoid crushing the box or sharply bending the shank.
Dry time matters: After class, air-dry 24–48 hours outside your bag; rotate pairs to extend life.
Keep the shape: Use mesh/cedar shapers.
Satin TLC: Spot-clean with a barely damp cloth or makeup sponge and mild soap; don’t soak.
Extra support: If approved by your teacher, reinforce box/wings with thin layers of pointe shoe hardener and allow to fully cure.

Fit & Size

Foot shape: RP, Baroque Pointe Shoes are made for “diamond” feet, even-length to slightly tapered toes with a narrower heel.
Box & crown: Slightly tapered box with a medium crown hugs the forefoot without crushing the met heads. If your toes are very square or very tapered, consider a different RP last.
Platform: Wide, pleated platform = easy balances and clean landings, great if you like stable pirouettes.
Vamp/Throat: V2 (medium) vamp and U-cut with drawstring give coverage while allowing roll-through. Cinch the drawstring just enough to seal the heel—never to “shrink” the shoe.
Shank: Flexible Medium Strong, supportive for center work and repertoire, pliable enough to articulate through demi.

Break-in: Pre-arched construction shortens break-in. Start with barre, then short center phrases before full rehearsals.

Sizing guidance: RP sizing doesn’t equal street-shoe sizing. Use your RP size chart and, ideally, get a professional fitting. A correct fit feels snug at the sides and heel with toes flat on demi; no sinking, box twisting, or visible bagging at the heel.
