For shoes, use measured foot length as your starting point and always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice shown on the individual product page.

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.
BLOCH produces footwear for many different dance disciplines, so there is no single BLOCH shoe conversion that accurately predicts the fit of every model. Ballet, jazz, tap, character, contemporary, dancesport and studio shoes can all use different fitting recommendations. Use the international shoe tables above as a reference only and always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice shown on the individual product page.

Best For: Adult Beginners • Developing Students • Weekly Training • Rehearsals • Musical Theatre • Studio-to-Stage Use
Description
Description
There is a reason some tap shoes remain popular year after year. The BLOCH S0301 Leather Oxford Tap Shoes feel traditional, dependable and ready for almost anything, from weekly adult classes to developing technique, rehearsals and stage routines.
Soft black leather gives the shoe a more comfortable, adaptable feel than an entry-level synthetic style, while the full Oxford lacing allows the fit to be adjusted securely across the foot. It is a trusted all-rounder for dancers who want their next tap shoe to offer better materials, clearer sound and lasting studio value.
BLOCH S0301 Leather Tap Shoes – Personality
Classic Black • Soft Leather • Oxford Lace-Up • Studio-to-Stage Style
The Reliable Leather All-Rounder
Understated, practical and easy to wear with almost any dance wardrobe, the S0301 has the clean black Oxford shape many dancers picture when they think of traditional tap. Its smooth leather finish feels polished without becoming overly formal, working naturally with class uniforms, rehearsal clothing and performance costumes.
BLOCH S0301 Tap Shoes – Design & Performance
The S0301 is built around a soft but durable genuine leather upper that gradually adapts to the dancer’s foot. Reinforced eyelets support repeated lacing, while a discreet elastic join beneath the laces helps release excess pressure across the instep as the foot moves.
A structured full sole provides a steady base for balance, weight placement and controlled toe-to-heel work. The low 1-inch heel keeps the dancer comfortably connected to the floor, while reinforced heel and toe counters help the Oxford shape retain its supportive feel through regular training.
Under the forefoot, BLOCH’s Pro Balance rubber pad adds grip without covering the toe tap. The cushioned insole helps absorb impact during repeated practice, making the S0301 comfortable enough for weekly classes and longer rehearsals.
Pre-attached BLOCH Techno toe and heel taps produce a clear, rich response. The toe tap is mounted against a resonating board, giving the forefoot greater depth and helping dancers hear detailed rhythms more easily as their timing and technique progress.

Dance World Notes
A Tap Shoe Dancers Can Grow with Technically
Why It Works: The S0301 balances structure, comfort and sound without becoming overly heavy or demanding. Beginners gain the support of a full sole, while developing dancers benefit from the leather upper, adjustable lacing and more responsive taps.
Sound Character: BLOCH Techno Taps create a clear, rich tone, with the resonating toe board adding extra depth to forefoot sounds. It feels more developed than an economy beginner shoe without producing the heavy projection of a professional double sole.
S0301 or S0330? Choose the S0330 for an affordable, straightforward first shoe with a traditional front tie. Choose the S0301 if you want a leather Oxford that offers better sound development and greater long-term training value.
Dance World Tip: The leather will soften with wear, so avoid buying unnecessary extra space. A secure new fit usually becomes more comfortable as the shoe begins to shape around the foot.
