How to Measure for Mara Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body. Keep the tape comfortably against the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and do not pull it too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Mara Dancewear uses different size structures depending on the garment. For leotards, compare chest, waist, hips and especially girth. For skirts, waist and hips are the most useful measurements. For warm-up pants, use waist and hips together with Mara's height guidance to choose between XS/S and M/L.

Alma Short Sleeve keeps the familiar curved lines of the Alma family in a lighter-looking cap-sleeve silhouette. The scoop neckline opens across the collarbones, while the sleeves sit gently over the tops of the shoulders. Pale binding follows the neckline and sleeve edges, giving the pink body a softly defined outline without adding decorative panels.
A curved underbust seam shapes the upper bodice, allowing the fine vertical ribbing to remain the focus through the torso. From behind, a deep rounded scoop leaves the shoulder blades visible, with pale trim tracing the opening and a small metallic Mara Dancewear emblem beneath it. The high-cut ballet leg completes the clean silhouette.
Made in Spain, the 78% nylon and 22% elastane ribbed fabric offers good compression and support with four-way stretch. It sits closely against the body with a reassuring held-in feel, giving the delicate-looking design a more structured character than its soft colour might suggest. The shorter sleeves leave most of the arms uncovered while retaining a little shoulder coverage.
Inside, the full front lining is exceptionally soft against the skin. Eligible items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt for EU orders, or 40 days for UK and other non-EU orders. Items must be in their original, resaleable condition, with tags and packaging. Product exclusions apply.
