There is sparkle, and then there is CLARA. Iridescent crystals sweep across the black nubuck upper, heel cup and even down the heel itself, catching different colours as the foot moves beneath the light. Against the deep black base the effect is especially dramatic – less “pretty detail”, more full-performance finish.

Even the buckle joins in, so there really isn't an undecorated angle on this shoe.

Underneath all those crystals is a properly considered Latin construction. Multiple front straps frame the forefoot while leaving enough openness for articulation, and the adjustable crossover ankle straps help draw the foot securely back into the closed heel cup.

The heel cup itself gives CLARA more containment than a very minimal Latin sandal, which is useful when dancing through fast changes of direction, turns and travelling combinations.

Underfoot, the suede dance sole delivers the controlled balance of glide and traction expected on indoor dance floors, while the shoe's flexible construction allows the foot to move naturally through Latin technique.

Inside, a soft padded insole adds cushioning for longer sessions. That comfort matters here because CLARA may look like a pure performance shoe, but PortDance has clearly designed it to be danced in rather than simply admired.

The 70mm flare heel provides a strong visual line while giving a broader base than a needle-thin heel. It still creates a distinctly elevated Latin pitch, so CLARA is best suited to dancers already comfortable working in a higher dance heel.
