Before Choosing Your Size

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.

Bust / Chest Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level.

Waist Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.

Girth Start at one shoulder, measure down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back to the same shoulder in one continuous loop.

Foot Length Measure from heel to longest toe while standing. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.

Growing Students & Adult Beginners

Approximately 1 UK size above measured foot length provides a comfortable everyday ballet fit while maintaining the shoe's elegant classical appearance.

First Ballet Shoes & Young Dancers

Approximately 1–1½ UK sizes above measured foot length is usually sufficient. As the satin has virtually no stretch, aim for a neat, secure fit rather than excessive growing room.
