Gently ease the cap over the second toe, placing the closed end over the tip. The gel should sit smoothly without squeezing, folds or a rolled edge.

Check the original length first. If shortening is needed, remove the cap from your foot and trim a small amount from the open edge with clean, sharp scissors. Keep the closed tip intact, leave a smooth edge and try it again before cutting further.

Care information

Wash gently by hand, rinse and allow to air dry completely. Once dry, lightly dust with talc, as recommended by Tech Dance.

Tech Dance TH033 – Targeted Gel Cushioning for the Second Toe

TH033 is Tech Dance's gel protector for the second toe, the toe beside the big toe. Its closed end cups the tip, while the flexible gel extends around the sides. This creates local cushioning where the toe meets the shoe and helps reduce rubbing during wear.

The gel construction has no fabric covering, giving dancers a choice for individual toe padding. Cap can be trimmed: excess length can be removed from the open edge while keeping the closed tip intact.

If your second toe is longer than your big toe, it may experience more pressure at the end of the pointe-shoe box. A cap can cushion local contact, but the added material also takes up space. Have your fitter assess the shoe's length, shape and existing padding so the second toe can remain straight and comfortable.
