International shoe sizes can vary slightly between brands and models. Use your measured foot length as the best starting point, then compare it with the individual brand's size recommendation. Where a product page gives model-specific sizing advice, that guidance should always take priority over a general conversion chart.

Never choose a dance shoe from conversion alone. Ballet, jazz, ballroom and character shoes can fit very differently depending on the last, upper material, width and intended level of compression. Use this table to understand international equivalents, then follow the fit advice for the individual shoe.
How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes
Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.
Foot Length
Key MeasurementStand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.
Measure Both Feet
Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.
Foot Width
Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.
Measure While Standing
Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.
Check the Dance Fit
A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.
This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.

Best For: Latin • Salsa • Bachata • Social Dance • Performance • Stage • Show Dance • Confident Heel Dancers
Description
Description
Some dance shoes quietly complete a look. The PortDance PD805 PRO Black Glitter Dance Heels are designed to become part of it. Bold, sculptural and unmistakably made for the dance floor, PD805 PRO brings serious impact to Latin, salsa, bachata and evening social dancing.
PortDance PD805 PRO Personality
Dramatic • Sculpted • Seductive • Black Glitter
This is black glitter done properly. Rather than covering a conventional sandal in sparkle, PortDance uses the glitter as part of a much stronger architectural silhouette. Deep scalloped cut-outs expose the foot between sweeping sections of black glitter, while fine black lacing creates contrast against the skin. Under lights, the finish comes alive; away from them, the all-black palette keeps everything surprisingly sophisticated.
PortDance PD805 PRO Glitter Dance Heels – Design & Performance
PD805 PRO takes the secure feeling of an ankle-height dance bootie and opens it dramatically through the front. The higher side panels and enclosed heel wrap the rear and sides of the foot, while a series of shaped cut-outs prevents the design from feeling visually heavy.
Across the front, adjustable lacing lets dancers refine the tension through the foot instead of relying on a fixed arrangement of straps. Once the preferred fit is established, the rear zipper provides a much quicker way in and out - particularly useful when changing shoes between rehearsals, classes or performances.
The peep-toe construction preserves the open, expressive character expected from a Latin heel, while the leather-lined upper and cushioned insole add comfort inside the more structured silhouette.
Underneath, PortDance pairs a traditional suede dance outsole with a slim 70mm stiletto heel. The result is noticeably more elevated and performance-focused than a low social heel: elegant through the leg line, precise beneath the dancer and made for someone already comfortable dancing with additional height.

A higher score does not necessarily mean a better shoe – the Dance World Shoe DNA™ shows the balance of characteristics that creates each style's individual feel.
Dance World Notes
Lace it once. Zip after that.
The front laces let you establish the tension you want through the foot, while the rear zipper handles everyday entry and removal. It's a clever combination on a shoe this intricate.
And yes, the glitter deserves attention.
This isn't a subtle shoe - nor should it be. Under evening and stage lighting the textured black surface catches individual flashes of light without losing the sophistication of an entirely black silhouette.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
PD805 PRO should feel close and secure through the midfoot, with the higher sides sitting neatly around the foot rather than gaping away.
Adjustable Lacing
Use the laces to refine the fit gradually from the front of the foot upwards. They should hold the shoe securely without creating uncomfortable pressure across the instep.
Peep-Toe Position
Your longest toe should sit close to the front edge without curling or extending significantly beyond the sole when standing in dance posture.
PD805 PRO Fit Note
PortDance generally runs true to EU sizing. Dancers between sizes or wanting a closer performance fit may prefer approximately half a size down; wider feet or dancers prioritising longer-session comfort may prefer additional room.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Dance shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
