For Capezio leotards, girth is the key measurement when body measurements suggest different sizes. A dancer may have a smaller chest or waist but still need the next size because of torso length. For children's dancewear, use the US clothing size as a reference only and prioritise actual measurements.

How to Measure for Capezio Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementStart at the high point of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder in one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close without pulling it tight. For Capezio leotards, girth is especially useful when choosing between two sizes.
Chest / Bust
Measure around the widest part of the chest or bust, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the widest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not part of Capezio's core bodywear chart, but it is useful when considering overall proportions and torso length.
Capezio bodywear is intended to sit close to the body while allowing unrestricted movement. For fitted leotards, use girth alongside bust, waist and hips rather than relying on a standard clothing size. Children's US size references are useful as a starting point only. Capezio Ava 1142W Pointe Shoes are constructed with a broad, feathered toe box, a high wide platform and a flexible #2.5 combination shank. The model combines a low-profile silhouette with detailed internal support and comfort features.
Its full wing box, moderate vamp and slightly U-shaped throat create the Ava’s characteristic front profile, while the leather board and red board shank offers flexibility through the arch.

Ava is built around a broad inner toe box with full wings and a high, wide platform. The platform is slightly slanted to encourage the dancer over the box, while the lowered profile and moderate hand-flattened crown maintain a close, refined shape.
Inside, a plush anti-slip microfiber lining and removable medical-grade gel cushion at the internal platform edge help reduce friction and toe pressure. The full #2.5 leather board and red board combination shank is designed to provide flexibility through the arch, while the reduced sole length helps limit excess material at the heel.

Pointe Shoe Fitting, Size & Reordering Tip: Ava must be selected in person with a qualified fitter and your teacher’s guidance. Please take extra care when selecting online: the size selector shows the UK size followed by the Capezio shank size in brackets - for example, UK 4 is Shank 7. Do not select from UK size alone; confirm both your fitted size and width before ordering. Ribbons and elastics are sold separately.

Returns
Eligible items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt for EU orders, or 40 days for UK and other non-EU orders. Items must be in their original, resaleable condition, with tags and packaging. Product exclusions apply.
Where our prepaid EU return-label service is available, a €10 label fee is deducted from your refund. Alternatively, you can arrange return postage at your own expense. Please contact us before returning a faulty or incorrect item.
