How to Measure for Mara Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body. Keep the tape comfortably against the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and do not pull it too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Mara Dancewear uses different size structures depending on the garment. For leotards, compare chest, waist, hips and especially girth. For skirts, waist and hips are the most useful measurements. For warm-up pants, use waist and hips together with Mara's height guidance to choose between XS/S and M/L.

Flora introduces a different side of Mara Dancewear. Moving away from the brand's signature all-over ribbed styles, this design combines a smoother nylon and elastane performance base with an exquisite floral brocade bodice, creating contrast through texture rather than colour.
The front is beautifully architectural. A supportive square neckline frames the collarbones with clean, straight lines, while the wider tank shoulders provide more security than a delicate camisole strap. Across the upper bodice, floral brocade brings a subtle raised texture to the monochromatic Pearl White palette - decorative enough to make Flora special, but restrained enough for serious studio wear.
From behind, the clean square-cut back echoes the geometry of the neckline and keeps the silhouette sharp and minimal. The smoother performance fabric has a noticeably different character from Mara's ribbed collection: less compressive and substantial, with a softer, lighter and more fluid feel against the body. Four-way stretch allows the fabric to follow movement easily, while the high-cut leg creates the long, uninterrupted line we have come to expect from Mara.
