For Intermezzo leotards, prioritise girth if your measurements point to different sizes. A dancer may fit one size through the chest and waist but need the next size for comfortable torso length. If you are between sizes, the larger size is usually the better starting point.
How to Measure for Intermezzo Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.

Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not part of Intermezzo's women's garment size table, but it is useful when considering overall proportions and whether a dancer may need more length through the torso.
Intermezzo women's dancewear runs from XS through XL in the brand's main size guide, although individual styles may be offered in a smaller size range. Leotards should fit closely without restricting movement. Designs using lace, flocked tulle, mesh or structured neckline details can feel slightly different from simpler stretch styles, so use girth as the main reference and follow any product-specific Dance World fit advice where provided.

Intermezzo Hema Long Sleeve Leotard – Design & Performance
A wide front neckline and opaque shoulder sections frame Hema’s smooth, plain bodice. Long mesh sleeves extend from the shoulders to the wrists, adding a sheer layer that keeps the line of the arms visible. The contrast between the simple body and transparent sleeves gives the design its understated elegance.
The mesh continues across the upper back around a large central keyhole opening. Matching binding outlines the opening beneath a continuous upper band, with the main Meryl body providing coverage below. This creates a striking back view while keeping the overall design clean.
The Meryl® body contains 92% polyamide and 8% elastane, offering a soft touch, comfortable stretch and quick-drying properties. Good compression and support give a gently held feel through the body.
