Reisport gymnastics hand guards use different sizing ranges depending on the grip model and apparatus. First choose the chart that matches your hand guard, then measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the longest finger.
Choose the Correct Reisport Size Chart
The measuring method is shared, but the actual size ranges are different. Always use the table for your specific grip type.
Reisport LADY, SWISS & UNIVERSAL Hand Guard Size Chart
Use this chart for the corresponding Reisport women's uneven-bar hand guards.
| Grip Size | Number | Hand Measurement |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 00 | Up to 5.5" |
| XS | 0 | 5.5" – 6" |
| S | 1 | 6" – 6.5" |
| M | 2 | 6.5" – 7" |
| L | 3 | 7" – 7.5" |
| XL | 4 | 7.5" and up |
Reisport Men's SWISS / High Bar Protec Size Chart
Use this chart for the Men's SWISS and Reisport High Bar Protec hand guards. Do not use the women's uneven-bar ranges above.
| Grip Size | Number | Hand Measurement |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 0 | 6" – 6.5" |
| S | 1 | 6.5" – 7" |
| M | 2 | 7" – 7.5" |
| L | 3 | 7.5" – 8" |
| XL | 4 | 8" and up |
How to Measure for Reisport Gymnastics Hand Guards
The measurement method is the same for both Reisport charts. Use a ruler or flexible tape measure and keep the hand relaxed and naturally extended.
Check the Hand Guard Fit
Hand length gives you the starting size, but correct positioning is equally important once the grips are on.
The grip should sit neatly through the palm and fingers without excessive loose material or uncomfortable pulling.
When correctly fitted, the three finger holes should slide only to the second knuckle. They should not be pulled deeply down the fingers.
Do not choose the chart by hand size alone. First identify whether the grips are designed for Women's Uneven Bar or Men's High Bar, then use the corresponding measurement range. If the gymnast sits directly between sizes, hand proportions, finger length and coach guidance can help confirm the best fit.
Reisport hand guards should sit securely through the hand without excessive loose material. Finger openings and wrist straps should remain correctly positioned while allowing the gymnast to grip the apparatus naturally. Because the Men's High Bar and Women's Uneven Bar models use different size ranges, always match the gymnast's measurement to the specific chart for the grip being purchased.

Description
Description
Specialist equipment for the work behind every high bar routine.
The Reisport® Men’s High Bar Grips combine Swiss-made leather with a three-hole design and slim rubber dowel. An adjustable hook-and-loop wrist strap makes fastening straightforward as you prepare for your turn on the apparatus.
Designed for advanced gymnasts, these handguards belong in a carefully fitted, coach-approved training kit. Correct sizing, preparation and regular inspection are all part of using them successfully.
Reisport High Bar Handguards – Design & Performance
The three finger holes and slim rubber dowel form a grip designed specifically for the horizontal bar. The leather hand section covers the palm, while the wrist cuff and fastening hold the grip in its fitted position.
The hook-and-loop closure is easy to open and refasten, making it convenient when putting grips on or removing them between apparatus rotations. Your coach should check the wrist fastening together with the leather length and finger fit.
Reisport manufactures its grips in Switzerland, drawing on decades of experience in artistic gymnastics. This model brings that specialist construction to gymnasts who prefer a hook-and-loop wrist closure.
Ready for Your High Bar Rotation
A gymnastics session moves between different apparatus, coaching cues and skill combinations. Having your high bar grips organised alongside your wristbands makes that transition easier. Take a moment to check the leather and closures, settle into your familiar preparation and approach each turn with a clear focus on the work your coach has set.
Choosing and Fitting Your High Bar Grips
Measure for this model. Measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger, then consult the appropriate Reisport high bar size guide. Ask your coach to confirm the size before preparing or using the grips.
Check the finger position. Reisport specifies that high bar grips should reach only to the second knuckle, counting from the fingertips. Have your coach assess the finger placement, dowel position and leather length together.
Fit with your usual wristbands. Bring the gymnastics wristbands you train in to the fitting. They sit beneath the grip cuff and should be considered when checking how the wrist closure fits.
Recheck as the leather wears. Leather grips stretch with use. A pair that fitted correctly when new still needs regular assessment; tightening the wrist strap cannot correct excessive leather length.
Use these grips for men’s high bar gymnastics. Select the appropriate apparatus-specific grips for rings or uneven bars, and let your coach guide the preparation and introduction of a new pair.
Looking After Your Reisport Grips
Inspect the leather, finger holes, dowel attachment, stitching and hook-and-loop closure before every session. Stop using a pair that shows damage, excessive stretching or a fastening that no longer holds properly.
Keep the leather dry and never cut away the dowel. Discuss any finger-hole adjustment with your coach and follow Reisport’s instructions; knives and scissors must not be used.
Product Highlight
🤸 Three-Hole Construction with a Slim High Bar Dowel
The combination of three finger holes, a slim rubber dowel and adjustable hook-and-loop fastening gives this Reisport model its dedicated high bar design, with Swiss-made leather at the centre of its construction.
Why We Recommend It
A useful option for experienced gymnasts whose coach has recommended this style of high bar grip. The easy-to-adjust fastening is practical between apparatus rotations, while the specialist construction makes it a considered choice when replacing familiar handguards or selecting a suitable new pair.
Dance World Tip
If you train on both high bar and rings, keep each pair in its own clearly labelled grip bag. This makes it easier to pick up the correct equipment during a busy rotation and keep track of each pair’s condition.
