Size & Fit Advice

All shoes are displayed in UK sizes. The size printed on the shoe or box may differ due to the manufacturer's international sizing system.

Runs small – start approximately 1½ UK sizes above the measured foot.

Always start with the child's measured foot, rather than their everyday trainer or school-shoe size.

Allow comfortable toe room, but make sure the heel remains secure and the foot does not slide inside the trainer.

Description

The Capezio DS19 Children's Web Dansneaker is a lightweight, flexible dance trainer made for young dancers who like to move. With its breathable upper, split sole and smooth turning point, it gives children much more freedom through the foot than an ordinary sports trainer.

From jazz and commercial to hip hop and Irish dance practice, DS19 is a brilliant all-rounder for busy young dancers – particularly when they want a dance trainer that feels a little lighter on the foot.

Made for Young Dancers Who Like to Move

DS19 has the familiar comfort of a trainer, but underneath it is designed specifically for dancing. The split sole allows the middle of the foot to bend and point more naturally, while a dedicated spin spot beneath the forefoot helps turns and pivots feel smoother.

The breathable mesh upper keeps the trainer feeling light, while soft padding around the tongue, ankle and heel makes it comfortable for longer classes and rehearsals. Underfoot, a cushioned removable footbed provides another layer of comfort without making the shoe feel unnecessarily heavy.

There's also a flat, reinforced toe, giving young dancers a more stable platform for choreography that includes toe stands.

Available in Black/Patent and Black/Pink, DS19 gives young dancers two very different looks while keeping exactly the same versatile dance construction underneath. Always check your dance school's required shoe style and colour before ordering.

Why Does a Split Sole Matter?

Look underneath DS19 and you'll notice that the sole doesn't run continuously beneath the entire foot. Instead, the main sole sections sit beneath the forefoot and heel, leaving the middle much freer to move.

For a young dancer, this means the trainer can bend, point and follow the arch much more naturally than a conventional full-sole sports trainer.

It makes DS19 particularly useful for classes that combine trainer-style comfort with jazz-inspired footwork, turns and more expressive movement through the feet.

Dance World Tip

Try the shoes with the socks your child actually dances in. DS19 is a lace-up trainer, so socks can make a noticeable difference to the fit.

How Should Children's Capezio DS19 Trainers Fit?

DS19 is known for fitting small, so don't automatically choose your child's usual trainer or school-shoe size.

Always measure your child's feet first. Everyday shoes may already contain growing room, so using their current shoe size can accidentally add too much extra space.

Start approximately 1½ UK sizes above the measured foot
Comfortable dance fit with sensible growing room

Depending on foot shape and growth, some children may need slightly more or less room. The important thing is that the toes have comfortable space while the heel remains securely held.

Quick fit check: Lace both trainers securely and ask your child to walk, rise onto the balls of the feet and try a few dance movements. The heel should stay in place and the foot shouldn't slide backwards and forwards inside the trainer.

Dance World Size Guide is intended as a helpful starting point. Every child's feet are different, so fit may vary depending on foot shape, width, socks, growth and preferred fit.

Growing room should be useful, not excessive. A little space at the toes is fine, but DS19 should still move securely with your child's foot during turns, jumps and travelling movement.
