Size & Fit Advice

One pack of 24 black U-pins, each 6cm long.

• Brush your hair into a ponytail and secure it comfortably with an elastic.
• Twist and wrap the ponytail into your chosen bun shape, tucking the ends underneath.
• Catch a small section at the edge of the bun with a U-pin.
• Turn the pin towards the centre and guide it into the bun’s base, catching some of the hair beneath to create an anchor.
• Repeat around the bun as needed. Add a hairnet for a tidier finish and secure it.
• Check that the bun feels steady. Reposition any pin that presses against the scalp or sticks out.

The number of pins needed depends on hair length, thickness and hairstyle. Follow your teacher’s or competition’s hairstyle requirements where relevant.
