International shoe sizes can vary slightly between brands and models. Use your measured foot length as the best starting point, then compare it with the individual brand's size recommendation. Where a product page gives model-specific sizing advice, that guidance should always take priority over a general conversion chart.

Never choose a dance shoe from conversion alone. Ballet, jazz, ballroom and character shoes can fit very differently depending on the last, upper material, width and intended level of compression. Use this table to understand international equivalents, then follow the fit advice for the individual shoe.
How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes
Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.
Foot Length
Key MeasurementStand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.
Measure Both Feet
Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.
Foot Width
Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.
Measure While Standing
Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.
Check the Dance Fit
A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.
This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.
ISLA Black Glitter Latin Dance Shoes • 3.2" Slim Heel & T-Bar Design - Black / 3 UK is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Best For: Latin Dance • Salsa • Performances • Competitions • Showcases • Confident Social Dancers
Description
Description
The Freed of London ISLA Latin Dance Shoes are made for dancers who don't want their performance shoes disappearing quietly into the background. Rich black glitter covers the vamp, heel and back of the shoe, while slender satin strips sweep across the forefoot to create a beautifully defined open-toe silhouette.
But ISLA isn't simply about sparkle. A secure T-bar construction, cushioned interior and traditional suede dance sole give this glamorous sandal the technical foundation needed for Latin movement, making it a striking choice for performances, competitions and confident social dancing.
Freed ISLA Personality
Dramatic • Glamorous • Confident • Unapologetically Latin
Some dance shoes add a little sparkle. ISLA commits to it.
The black-on-black combination keeps the shoe sophisticated, but the heavy glitter catches changing light across the entire silhouette – including the heel and back of the shoe. Satin strips cut through the sparkle at the forefoot, giving the design definition and preventing all that glitter from becoming visually overwhelming.
It's theatrical without becoming costume-like, and particularly beautiful under stage or evening lighting.
Freed ISLA Latin Dance Shoes – Design & Performance
ISLA combines a heavy glitter open-toe vamp with slender satin strips that cross and frame the forefoot. The construction leaves the toes free for articulation while giving the front of the shoe considerably more visual presence than a minimal Latin sandal.
Running vertically through the centre is a classic T-bar. Combined with the adjustable ankle strap, it creates a secure connection through the centre of the foot and helps keep the shoe comfortably positioned during turns, travelling steps and faster Latin choreography.
The heel is one of ISLA's defining features. At 3.2" with a slim profile, it creates a pronounced Latin pitch and an elegant extension through the leg. This makes ISLA particularly suited to dancers already comfortable working in a higher heel rather than those looking for their first low social dance shoe.
Underfoot, a traditional suede dance sole provides the controlled balance of glide and traction required for indoor dance floors, while Freed's soft comfort lining and insole padding help soften the feel of the higher-heeled construction.

Dance World Notes
The heel is part of the design.
ISLA doesn't stop the glitter at the vamp. It continues across the back and all the way down the slim heel, so the shoe still catches the light when viewed from behind, a particularly lovely detail for performance.
This is not our quiet Latin shoe.
If you want understated, we have plenty of other options. ISLA is the one we'd reach for when the shoe is meant to become part of the performance.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
ISLA should fit closely and securely around the foot, as expected from a performance-focused open-toe Latin sandal. Begin with your usual UK dance shoe size. The toes should sit naturally toward the front edge of the sole without excessive space beyond them.
Forefoot Fit
The satin and glitter vamp should comfortably contain the forefoot while still allowing the toes to articulate. Avoid choosing excess length simply to create more room at the front.
T-Bar & Ankle
The T-bar should sit comfortably along the centre of the foot, while the ankle strap should feel secure without restricting movement.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Ballroom and Latin shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
