Size & Fit Advice

All shoes are displayed in UK sizes. The size printed on the shoe or box may differ due to the manufacturer's international sizing system.

Always measure both feet and use the individual Erin Éire size chart as your starting point. Do not select a size from school shoes, trainers or previous pumps, as everyday footwear may already contain growing room and older leather pumps may have stretched with wear.

The size chart is a guide only. Foot shape, width, instep, dancer level and teacher preference can all affect the most appropriate size.

For the most accurate result, we recommend an in-store fitting. If visiting the shop is not possible, consider comparing two neighbouring sizes and ask the dancer’s teacher to check the fit before the unsuitable pair is fully worn.

Shoe Fit & Break-In

Close through the toes. Defined beneath the arch. Secure at the heel.

Erin should fit closely around the entire foot, with the pre-shaped arch sitting neatly beneath the dancer’s own arch and the higher heel remaining securely in position. The upper should not bag, twist or move independently from the foot when pointing.

For Beginners or Dancers Wearing Erin for the First Time

The toes should reach the front and may sit in a lightly curled position. The heel should sit fully inside the higher heel back, while the leather follows the arch without loose material or visible gaps. The fit should feel close but not painfully compressed.

For Experienced Dancers

A closer fit with more noticeable toe curl may be preferred for competition. The pump should feel like part of the foot, with no unused space around the toes, arch or heel. Follow the degree of compression normally approved by your teacher.

Break-In & Stretch – Fit Will Change With Wear

Erin’s leather upper will soften, mould and become more personal with wear. Depending on the dancer’s foot shape, training frequency and preferred fit, the pump may become noticeably roomier as it breaks in.

It should feel close when new, as a pump that is already loose is likely to become too generous. The amount of stretch varies between dancers and individual pairs and cannot be guaranteed.

Dance World Fit Note

Dancer level, foot shape, teacher preference and break-in expectations can all change the required fit. If this is your first performance pump, or your teacher has asked you to begin in a more advanced style, professional fitting is the best option.

If visiting the shop is not possible, measure both feet, use the individual Erin Éire chart as a starting point and consider comparing two neighbouring sizes with your teacher before the unsuitable pair is fully worn.

Description

Distinctive, beautifully shaped and exceptionally comfortable underfoot, the Antonio Pacelli Erin Éire Irish Dancing Pumps bring a fresh stage look to one of the brand’s most trusted performance constructions. Bright white leather loops contrast against the black leather upper, revealing more of the white sock and creating the appearance of a smaller, neater foot.

Beneath the styling, Erin is based on Antonio Pacelli’s bestselling Ava pump. A pre-shaped arch, secure higher heel, seamless toe and cushioned Poron insole make it a strong progression shoe for ambitious beginners, intermediate dancers and experienced performers who prefer its streamlined fit.

Personality

Distinctive • Pre-Arched • Cushioned • Stage-Defined

Erin’s bright white loops are more than a decorative detail. Against the black leather, they allow more of the dancer’s white sock to remain visible and visually reduce the amount of black covering the foot. The result is a clean, compact stage appearance that stands apart from a traditional all-black pump without feeling overly decorative.

Antonio Pacelli Erin Éire Irish Dancing Pumps – Design & Performance

The Erin Éire takes its underlying shape from the popular Antonio Pacelli Ava, giving dancers a tried-and-tested performance construction with a more distinctive finish. The soft, high-quality leather upper sits closely around the foot and gradually moulds with wear, while the pre-lasted arch profile immediately creates more definition beneath the instep than a traditional beginner pump.

The lace loops are positioned to draw the upper closely around the sides of the foot and arch. Their white leather finish creates Erin’s signature stage effect, while the secure lacing system allows dancers to adjust the hold across the foot and around the ankle.

A slightly higher heel back provides additional coverage and helps the pump remain securely positioned during fast footwork, pointing and jumps. This is particularly useful for dancers who experience movement or slipping in lower-cut pumps, although the final heel hold will always depend on individual foot shape.

At the front, the seamless toe construction creates a smoother appearance and reduces unnecessary bulk across the toes. Underneath, a split black suede sole allows the forefoot and heel to move independently, supporting articulation through the arch while maintaining controlled contact with the dance floor.

Inside, a high-impact Poron cushioned insole helps absorb landing impact and makes Erin more comfortable during longer classes, repeated drills and competition preparation. It gives the shoe a more protected feel than minimal beginner pumps without making it feel heavy or disconnected from the floor.

Dance World Notes

Particularly neat on narrower feet: The close upper, shaped arch and lace placement can create a beautifully streamlined result on a narrower foot. Dancers with a wider forefoot or higher instep may need a little more room and should compare sizes carefully.

A lovely progression shoe: Erin makes sense for dancers moving beyond a simple first pump. It introduces a more defined arch, split-sole articulation and additional landing comfort without becoming an extremely specialised championship shoe.

Dance World Tip – Lace for the arch before judging the fit. Centre the foot inside the pump, pull the higher heel fully into position and lace evenly through the arch eyelets. If the lacing is too loose or incorrectly routed, Erin can appear to gape even when the underlying size is correct.
