International shoe sizes can vary slightly between brands and models. Use your measured foot length as the best starting point, then compare it with the individual brand's size recommendation. Where a product page gives model-specific sizing advice, that guidance should always take priority over a general conversion chart.

Never choose a dance shoe from conversion alone. Ballet, jazz, ballroom and character shoes can fit very differently depending on the last, upper material, width and intended level of compression. Use this table to understand international equivalents, then follow the fit advice for the individual shoe.
How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes
Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.
Foot Length
Key MeasurementStand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.
Measure Both Feet
Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.
Foot Width
Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.
Measure While Standing
Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.
Check the Dance Fit
A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.
This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.
ENERGISE PRO Compression Socks for Irish Dancers • Ultra Low Design - White / S (Child 11 - 1.5UK) is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Best For: Feiseanna • Championship weekends • Intensive training • Irish dance class • Recovery after dancing • Dancers who prefer a short, modern sock line
Description
Description
Irish dance socks are never “just socks” - especially when the length, line and feeling inside the shoe all matter. Antonio Pacelli ENERGISE PRO Compression Socks combine the modern ultra-low poodle-sock look with purposeful support for dancers who train hard, compete often and want their socks to work as well as they look.
Designed specifically for Irish dancing, this bright white style uses graduated compression through the foot, ankle and lower leg, while retaining a clean ultra-low profile that keeps more of the leg line visible on stage.
Antonio Pacelli ENERGISE PRO Irish Dance Compression Socks – Ultra-Low Performance Support
ENERGISE PRO brings modern performance-sock technology into an Irish dance essential. Graduated compression is designed to give the foot, ankle and lower leg a close, supported feel, helping dancers stay comfortable through powerful jumps, repeated rounds and long days on the feis floor.
The performance knit also includes padded heel and toe zones for impact comfort, moisture-wicking fibres to help manage warmth, and smooth toe seams to minimise rubbing inside pumps. It is a seriously practical sock, presented in the crisp ultra-low style dancers love.
Why Choose Ultra-Low Irish Dance Socks?
Ultra-low socks are chosen for their shorter, cleaner silhouette. They show more of the calf and create a modern, streamlined stage look, while still providing the bright white poodle-sock finish expected for Irish dance.
Length is very personal in Irish dance. ENERGISE PRO is best for dancers who already know they enjoy an ultra-low cut or are looking for a short competition sock with added performance support. As always, check your teacher’s preference before changing sock length for an important event.
From Training Days to Championship Rounds
These are not only a “big feis” sock. They are ideal for dancers who train regularly and value a more secure, responsive feel in their pumps. Keep a fresh pair for competition presentation and another in rotation for weekly classes and rehearsal.
Product Highlight
⚡ Competition Style, Performance Support
ENERGISE PRO brings technical sports-sock construction into a traditional Irish dance essential. The modern ultra-low poodle-sock profile is combined with graduated support through the foot, ankle and lower leg, plus padded heel and toe zones, smooth seams and moisture-wicking yarns. The result is a clean stage look with a closer, more purposeful performance feel inside pumps and jig shoes.
Why We Recommend It
This is an especially interesting choice for dancers who already prefer an ultra-low sock and spend long hours training, rehearsing or competing. The supportive knit and targeted cushioning offer meaningful comfort without adding unnecessary bulk inside closely fitted Irish dance shoes.
Dance World Tip: Choose your usual Irish dance sock size and pull the socks on gradually, smoothing the fabric upwards from the toes rather than tugging the cuff. Compression should feel close and supportive, never painful or restrictive. Wear the cuff at its natural height without folding, and confirm that an ultra-low length suits your school’s competition look.
