Size & Fit Advice

The K-Warmer is available in one size, but it is not a universal one-size-fits-all garment.

Recommended wearer measurements:

Hip bone to ankle bone: approximately 28–40 inches / 71–102cm
Thigh circumference: approximately 16–26 inches / 41–66cm

The fit generally begins around an average female dancer aged 13–14 and extends through many adult petite and average builds. Fit will vary according to thigh circumference, leg length and preferred wearing position.

The compression should feel close and supportive but should not cause numbness, pinching or discomfort. Dancers with fuller thighs may prefer to wear the K-Warmer lower, while shorter dancers can fold or scrunch the additional length.

Spot clean when required and avoid pulling jewellery, hook-and-loop fasteners or rough objects across the knitted fabric.

Description

The Legwarmer That Does More Than Keep You Warm

The Apolla K-Warmer Compression Legwarmers combine the familiar warmth of a dance legwarmer with gentle, targeted support through the knees and calves. Developed with dancers in mind, they offer a closer and more performance-focused alternative to loose knitted warm-ups.

Apolla K-Warmer Compression Legwarmers – Design & Performance

The K-Warmer uses 10–15 mmHg graduated Kinesio compression to provide light support around the knees, shins and calves. This is gentler than the 20–30 mmHg compression used in many Apolla sock styles, making the K-Warmer particularly suited to muscle warmth, movement and extended studio wear.

Breathable, moisture-wicking fabric helps the legs remain warm without creating the heavy, bulky feeling of a traditional knitted legwarmer. Antimicrobial properties support freshness during long classes, while the soft comfort band is designed to sit securely without feeling unnecessarily restrictive.

The long flexible shape can be pulled above the knee for fuller coverage, folded to suit the dancer’s proportions or softly scrunched around the calves. This allows the K-Warmer to adapt from barre warm-ups and rehearsals to recovery between classes.

Wear the K-Warmer alone or combine it with Apolla compression socks for more continuous lower-leg support. Sold as a pair and available in Pink and Black.

Cold-Studio Essential

Helps dancers feel prepared for movement when the studio takes longer to warm up.

Made for Long Dance Days

A supportive layer for rehearsals, workshops and schedules with several classes in a row.

Wear It Your Way

Pull it above the knee, fold it lower or create a relaxed scrunched legwarmer look.

Class to Recovery

Designed to remain useful after training when the legs need warmth and gentle support.

Warmth That Still Lets the Legs Work

Dancers need warm muscles, but they also need to see and feel what the knees, ankles and calves are doing. The K-Warmer follows the shape of the leg rather than surrounding it with loose bulk, providing a streamlined layer that can remain in place through pliés, stretches, barre exercises and travelling movement. It feels much closer to performance wear than a traditional winter legwarmer.

What Dancers Notice

Feedback on the K-Warmer frequently mentions how quickly the legs feel warm, the comfortable support through the calves and knees and the ability to wear the legwarmers through more than just the beginning of class. Dancers also describe using them during long teaching days, recovery periods, conditioning sessions and travel.

Fit is the main point to consider. Many customers find that the K-Warmer remains securely in position, but some dancers with fuller thighs report the top rolling down. Shorter dancers may also find the full length generous and prefer to fold or scrunch the fabric.

One Size - but Not One Size Fits All

The K-Warmer is currently produced in one size designed to accommodate a specific measurement range:

  • Hip bone to ankle bone: approximately 28–40 inches / 71–102cm
  • Thigh circumference: approximately 16–26 inches / 41–66cm

Apolla advises that this range generally begins around an average female dancer aged 13–14 and extends through many adult wearers. Individual fit will depend on leg length, thigh shape and how high the legwarmer is intended to sit.

The K-Warmer should feel close and supportive without restricting circulation. If the top repeatedly rolls, creates a tight pressure point or feels uncomfortable, wear it lower or remove it rather than forcing it into a higher position.

To put it on, gather the legwarmer before guiding it over the foot and ankle. Gradually work the fabric upwards, smoothing it evenly over the calf and knee rather than pulling sharply from the top edge.

Product Highlight

🩰 Ballet Warmth with Light Compression Support

The K-Warmer turns a familiar dance warm-up into a more functional studio layer. Light 10–15 mmHg compression follows the knees and calves, while breathable moisture-wicking fabric keeps the legs warm without the bulk of a traditional knitted legwarmer.

Why We Recommend It

This is a particularly useful choice for dancers who love wearing legwarmers but want more than passive warmth. The streamlined fit stays closely connected to the leg, while the lighter compression makes the K-Warmer adaptable for class, teaching, rehearsal and recovery. Strong dancer feedback also supports its place as one of Apolla’s most useful crossover products.
