Capezio dancewear is designed for a close, movement-ready fit. Use actual body measurements rather than everyday clothing size wherever possible. For leotards and other one-piece garments, girth is particularly important because it reflects the full length of the torso.
Capezio Ladies Garments Size Chart
Compare bust, waist, hips and girth to find your recommended Capezio size. This Dance World guide covers XS–L.

Capezio Children's Garments Size Chart
Capezio children's sizes run from Toddler through Extra Large. Clothing size is a useful starting point, but body measurements provide a more reliable guide for fitted dancewear.
| Capezio Size | US Size | Chest | Waist | Hips | Girth |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toddler T | 2–4 | 50.8–53.3 cm 20–21" | 48.3–50.8 cm 19–20" | 53.3–58.4 cm 21–23" | 88.9–96.5 cm 35–38" |
| Small S | 4–5 | 55.9–58.4 cm 22–23" | 50.8–53.3 cm 20–21" | 58.4–63.5 cm 23–25" | 99–106.7 cm 39–42" |
| Intermediate I | 6–6X | 61–63.5 cm 24–25" | 53.3–58.4 cm 21–23" | 63.5–68.6 cm 25–27" | 109.2–116.8 cm 43–46" |
| Medium M | 7–8 | 66–71.1 cm 26–28" | 58.4–63.5 cm 23–25" | 68.6–73.7 cm 27–29" | 119.4–127 cm 47–50" |
| Large L | 10–12 | 73.7–78.7 cm 29–31" | 66–71.1 cm 26–28" | 76.2–81.3 cm 30–32" | 127–134.6 cm 50–53" |
| Extra Large XL | 14–16 | 83.8–88.9 cm 33–35" | 76.2–81.3 cm 30–32" | 86.4–91.4 cm 34–36" | 134.6–142.2 cm 53–56" |
For Capezio leotards, girth is the key measurement when body measurements suggest different sizes. A dancer may have a smaller chest or waist but still need the next size because of torso length. For children's dancewear, use the US clothing size as a reference only and prioritise actual measurements.
International Adult Shoe Size Conversion
Use this general conversion chart to compare EU, UK and US shoe sizes. Capezio footwear sizing can vary significantly between ballet, jazz, tap, character and other dance-shoe styles, so always follow the model-specific Dance World fit advice on the individual product page.

Capezio produces ballet, jazz, tap, character, ballroom and studio footwear, and sizing can vary considerably between models. The shoe tables above are general international conversions rather than a model-specific Capezio fit chart. Always follow the Dance World Fit Advice on the individual shoe page, as that recommendation should take priority.
How to Measure for Capezio Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.

Girth
Key MeasurementStart at the high point of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder in one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close without pulling it tight. For Capezio leotards, girth is especially useful when choosing between two sizes.
Chest / Bust
Measure around the widest part of the chest or bust, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the widest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not part of Capezio's core bodywear chart, but it is useful when considering overall proportions and torso length.
Capezio bodywear is intended to sit close to the body while allowing unrestricted movement. For fitted leotards, use girth alongside bust, waist and hips rather than relying on a standard clothing size. Children's US size references are useful as a starting point only. Where an individual Capezio garment has its own fit note, use that product-specific advice alongside this chart.

Description
Description
Light, flexible and made to move, the Capezio DS19 Web Dansneaker is one of those wonderfully versatile dance trainers that has earned its place in studios for years. Its breathable mesh construction, split sole and dedicated turning point give dancers the freedom of a dance shoe with the familiar feeling of a trainer.
From jazz and Irish dance practice to hip hop, commercial and teaching, DS19 is a particularly good choice when you want one lightweight trainer capable of moving comfortably between different styles.
Capezio DS19 Web Dansneaker Personality
Light • Flexible • Sporty • Versatile
DS19 has a noticeably lighter personality than some of the more substantial dance trainers. The web-style overlays give it that unmistakable early dance-sneaker look, while the low profile keeps it from feeling overly bulky on the foot.
We stock two versions: Black/Patent for a classic studio look with a little shine, and Black/Pink for dancers who want something slightly more playful.
Capezio DS19 – Design & Performance
The DS19 is built around a flexible split-sole construction. Instead of one continuous trainer sole running beneath the arch, the forefoot and heel sections move more independently, allowing the foot to point, flex and articulate much more naturally through dance movement.
The lightweight tech-mesh upper keeps the shoe breathable, while synthetic overlays provide additional shape and structure without turning DS19 into a heavy trainer. A padded tongue, collar and Achilles notch soften the areas that sit closely around the ankle.
Underneath, Capezio uses a PU dance outsole with built-in flex points and a dedicated forefoot spin spot. The turning zone reduces resistance during pivots and directional changes, while the non-marking sole provides controlled contact with the studio floor.
One particularly distinctive feature is the flat reinforced toe. It gives the front of the trainer a little more structure and creates a stable surface for choreography incorporating toe stands – something you won't find on every lightweight dance sneaker.
Inside, a contoured removable EVA footbed adds cushioning without making the shoe feel excessively built-up. The overall result is lighter and more agile than a heavily cushioned trainer such as Boost, while still offering significantly more protection and support than a minimal jazz shoe.
Capezio DS19 Technical Profile
The Dance World Technical Profile provides a quick overview of each practice shoe's construction and feel, making it easier to compare different dance trainers at a glance.
Capezio DS19 Practice Shoe DNA™
Our Dance World Practice Shoe DNA™ highlights the five characteristics that define how DS19 feels to dance in, helping dancers compare its overall character with other practice shoes and dance trainers.
●●●●○
●●●●○
●●●●●
●●●●●
●●●●○
The Dance World Practice Shoe DNA™ compares the defining characteristics of practice and social dance shoes. A higher score does not necessarily mean a better shoe - it shows the balance of comfort, stability, flexibility, floor control and support so dancers can choose the feel that best suits their dancing.
Dance World Notes
That toe isn't just part of the look.
The reinforced flat front gives DS19 a little extra versatility for choreography incorporating toe stands and makes it particularly recognisable among classic dance sneakers.
Dance World Tip - let the split sole do the work. DS19 should flex naturally through the middle when you point and rise. If the trainer is excessively roomy, the foot can move inside the shoe instead of moving cleanly with it.
Capezio DS19 – Dance World Fit Advice
Runs small – measure first and allow for the fit.
Adult & Advanced Dancers: We recommend starting approximately ½–1 UK size above the measured foot, depending on foot shape and preferred fit.
Students & Growing Teens: Start approximately 1 UK size above the measured foot. Up to 1½ sizes may work where a little growing allowance is required, provided the heel remains securely held.
Young Dancers: Start approximately 1–1½ UK sizes above the measured foot. Aim for comfortable toe room without allowing the foot to slide inside the trainer.
Dance World Fit Note: Always start from the dancer's measured foot, rather than their current everyday trainer or school-shoe size. Lace both shoes securely and check that the heel stays in place through walking, rising and dance movement.
Fit advice is a guide only. Foot shape, width, socks and preferred dance fit can affect the best size for each dancer.
