How to Measure for Mara Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body. Keep the tape comfortably against the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and do not pull it too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Mara Dancewear uses different size structures depending on the garment. For leotards, compare chest, waist, hips and especially girth. For skirts, waist and hips are the most useful measurements. For warm-up pants, use waist and hips together with Mara's height guidance to choose between XS/S and M/L.

Aura is one of Mara Dancewear's defining silhouettes, but White Marble shows just how different the same design can feel when colour and print take over.
The high neckline creates a clean, elongated upper line, while the functional front zip allows the neckline to change with you. Wear it higher for a sharper silhouette or open it slightly to soften the front and reveal more of the collarbones. Against the flowing marble pattern, the vertical zip also provides a lovely point of structure through the centre of the design.

- Finally, a print we really want to wear. Ballet wardrobes can be very solid-colour heavy, so White Marble feels genuinely fresh without becoming loud or overly decorative.
- There's a story behind it. Mara Dancewear drew inspiration from the famous white marble of Macael in southern Spain, giving the print a lovely connection to the brand's Spanish roots.
- The ribbing makes the print more interesting. Rather than sitting on a completely flat surface, the grey marbling moves across the fine texture and gains extra depth as the body moves.

Mara Dancewear created White Marble in reference to the celebrated marble of Macael in Andalucía, a stone known for its luminous white appearance and long connection with Spanish architecture and craftsmanship. It's a particularly fitting inspiration for Aura: something natural and fluid translated onto a very clean, structured silhouette.
Soft washes of grey move across the white base almost like ink or watercolour, so the pattern feels organic rather than geometric. Because the palette remains neutral, it's also surprisingly easy to style.
