For Intermezzo leotards, prioritise girth if your measurements point to different sizes. A dancer may fit one size through the chest and waist but need the next size for comfortable torso length. If you are between sizes, the larger size is usually the better starting point.
How to Measure for Intermezzo Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. For Intermezzo leotards, girth is especially important when deciding between two sizes.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not part of Intermezzo's women's garment size table, but it is useful when considering overall proportions and whether a dancer may need more length through the torso.
Intermezzo women's dancewear runs from XS through XL in the brand's main size guide, although individual styles may be offered in a smaller size range. Leotards should fit closely without restricting movement. Designs using lace, flocked tulle, mesh or structured neckline details can feel slightly different from simpler stretch styles, so use girth as the main reference and follow any product-specific Dance World fit advice where provided.

Curved front seams and a defined waist shape the outline, while matching tulle softens the neckline and creates a sheer panel across the back. Available in Violet and Black, Hanne combines these delicate details with soft, lightweight Meryl and good compression and support.
Intermezzo Hanne Ballet Leotard – Design & Performance
A sweetheart-shaped bodice sits beneath a gently curved tulle neckline, creating a soft contrast between sheer and opaque fabric. Fine camisole straps frame the shoulders, while the curved front seams draw the eye towards the waist. The horizontal waist seam completes the shaped silhouette.
At the back, a broad central tulle panel sits between opaque side panels and finishes at the waist seam. The upper back remains open above it, keeping the camisole shape light. This combination gives Hanne a distinctive back view without adding straps or fastenings across the shoulders.
The Meryl® body contains 92% polyamide and 8% elastane, offering a soft touch, comfortable stretch and quick-drying performance.
