Care information

Keep the ribbons clean and dry and allow pointe shoes to air naturally after every class or rehearsal.

If necessary, gently spot clean the satin using cool water and allow it to air dry fully. Avoid machine washing, tumble drying, bleach, ironing and direct heat.

Check the elastic inserts, satin and stitching regularly. Replace the ribbons if the elastic becomes overstretched, the satin is badly frayed or the stitching no longer feels secure.

Before Choosing Your Size

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.

Bust / Chest Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level.

Waist Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.

Girth Start at one shoulder, measure down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back to the same shoulder in one continuous loop.

Foot Length Measure from heel to longest toe while standing. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.

Traditional Satin with Flex Where It Matters

The BLOCH A0532 Double-Faced Elastorib Pointe Shoe Ribbon maintains the familiar appearance and wrapping feel of classical satin ribbon while adding a carefully positioned elastic section behind the ankle. It is a thoughtful choice for dancers who want targeted flexibility without changing to an entirely stretchy ribbon.

BLOCH A0532 Double-Faced Elastorib – Design & Pointe Shoe Use

Ultra-soft double-faced satin creates a smooth, polished finish on both sides of the ribbon. It wraps neatly around the ankle and complements the traditional appearance of pink satin pointe shoes and ballet tights.

An elastic insert is sewn directly into each ribbon. When attached correctly, this flexible section sits behind the Achilles and gives as the ankle and heel flex and extend, helping to reduce unnecessary pulling and restriction through movement.

This combination allows the dancer to retain the familiar feel of satin around the ankle while gaining more flexibility at the back. The elastic insert also helps the ribbon follow the foot as it travels from plié through demi-pointe and onto pointe, without creating excessive looseness or bagginess.

Each pack contains four pre-cut 63.5cm lengths - two ribbons for each pointe shoe. There is no need to measure and divide a continuous roll before sewing.

Elastorib feels closest to traditional pointe ribbon across the front and sides of the ankle, but the concealed elastic section responds when the heel lowers into plié or the foot lengthens towards pointe. It is a subtle change that can make repeated barre work, rehearsals and longer pointe sessions feel less restrictive around the back of the ankle.
