International shoe sizes can vary slightly between brands and models. Use your measured foot length as the best starting point, then compare it with the individual brand's size recommendation. Where a product page gives model-specific sizing advice, that guidance should always take priority over a general conversion chart.

Never choose a dance shoe from conversion alone. Ballet, jazz, ballroom and character shoes can fit very differently depending on the last, upper material, width and intended level of compression. Use this table to understand international equivalents, then follow the fit advice for the individual shoe.
How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes
Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.
Foot Length
Key MeasurementStand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.
Measure Both Feet
Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.
Foot Width
Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.
Measure While Standing
Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.
Check the Dance Fit
A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.
This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.

Description
Description
The PortDance TATIANA Dance Heels bring serious fashion energy to the dance floor. Tall, sculptural and unmistakably modern, this black peep-toe bootie is made for dancers who want their shoes to become part of the look, not disappear underneath it.
PortDance TATIANA Personality
Bold • Sculptural • Confident • After-Dark
TATIANA has the attitude of a fashion ankle boot translated into a genuine dance shoe. Matte black nubuck keeps the look sophisticated, while the open laced front, peep toe and dramatic 80mm heel stop it from ever feeling conservative. The padded bands around the ankle are particularly good - architectural, slightly rebellious and instantly recognisable.
PortDance TATIANA Lace-Up Dance Heels – Design & Performance
The high-cut black nubuck upper wraps around the foot and ankle, creating substantially more coverage than a traditional Latin sandal. Across the front, adjustable lacing allows the hold to be refined through the arch and ankle rather than relying on one fixed strap position.
A padded leather ankle collar softens the taller bootie construction, while the smooth leather heel counter adds structure around the rear of the foot. Inside, soft lining and a cushioned footbed help balance the more dramatic heel height.
The peep-toe front breaks up the coverage and keeps the silhouette distinctly dance-led, while the cut-away laced centre adds flexibility and visual length through the foot.
And then there is the heel. At 80mm, TATIANA sits firmly in high-heel territory, but PortDance uses a wider flare profile to create a broader base beneath the dancer than a fine stiletto. Underfoot, a traditional suede dance sole provides the controlled glide required for turns and directional changes.
PortDance TATIANA Technical Profile
The Dance World Technical Profile provides a quick overview of each Ballroom and Latin shoe's construction, fit and intended use, making it easier to compare different styles at a glance.

Dance World Notes
Those padded ankle bands make the shoe.
They're one of those details that seem small until you see TATIANA on the foot. They give the bootie its distinctive fashion-led silhouette while adding softness around the top edge.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
Most dancers find TATIANA true to size. The bootie should sit securely around the foot and ankle without excessive movement inside the shoe.
Adjustable Hold
Use the front lacing to refine the fit through the arch and ankle. This makes TATIANA particularly useful when you prefer more control over how firmly the upper holds your foot.
Forefoot
The peep-toe front is intended to fit fairly close initially. Nubuck naturally relaxes somewhat through wear, so avoid choosing excessive growing or comfort room at the front.
TATIANA Fit Note
If you fall between sizes, narrower feet may prefer the half size down, while wider feet may benefit from the half size up for additional toe room.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Dance shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
