International shoe sizes can vary slightly between brands and models. Use your measured foot length as the best starting point, then compare it with the individual brand's size recommendation. Where a product page gives model-specific sizing advice, that guidance should always take priority over a general conversion chart.

Never choose a dance shoe from conversion alone. Ballet, jazz, ballroom and character shoes can fit very differently depending on the last, upper material, width and intended level of compression. Use this table to understand international equivalents, then follow the fit advice for the individual shoe.
How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes
Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.
Foot Length
Key MeasurementStand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.
Measure Both Feet
Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.
Foot Width
Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.
Measure While Standing
Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.
Check the Dance Fit
A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.
This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.

Description
Description
The PortDance PD800 NET Ballroom & Latin Shoes are proof that a little detail can completely change a classic black dance shoe. Elegant enough for the ballroom and playful enough for a night of social dancing, this is an easy-to-wear style with just the right amount of PortDance personality.
PortDance PD800 NET Personality
Polished • Sparkling • Feminine • Refined
Black satin keeps PD800 NET beautifully versatile, while scattered glitter details catch the light around the straps and heel. The clever part is the placement: rather than covering the entire shoe in sparkle, PortDance uses it almost like jewellery, outlining the design and giving the heel an unexpectedly glamorous finish.
PortDance PD800 NET Black Ballroom & Latin Shoes – Design & Performance
PD800 NET combines a black satin upper with a multi-strap open-toe design, giving the forefoot a lighter, more flexible feel than a traditional closed Ballroom shoe. The slim straps create an elegant line across the toes while allowing the foot to articulate naturally through social and Latin movement.
An adjustable wrap-style strap helps secure the shoe through the instep and ankle, while the shaped heel cup keeps the rear of the foot contained. Soft internal lining adds comfort for longer dance sessions.
The 55mm heel is one of this model's strongest practical features. It gives enough elevation to create a polished dance line while remaining considerably more approachable than PortDance's higher 70mm, 75mm and 80mm styles. That makes PD800 NET particularly useful for dancers moving between Ballroom, Latin and social dance styles.
Underneath, the suede dance sole provides the familiar balance of glide and controlled traction required for turns, pivots and travelling movement on indoor dance floors.

A higher score does not necessarily mean a better shoe – the Dance World Shoe DNA™ shows the balance of characteristics that creates each style's individual feel.
Dance World Notes
Look at the heel before you call this a simple black shoe.
The glitter follows the lower edge of the heel cup and wraps around the heel attachment, creating an almost jewellery-like frame. It is much more interesting in motion than a conventional glitter panel.
A useful crossover shoe.
The combination of an open forefoot, moderate heel and adjustable hold makes this one particularly interesting for dancers who don't want separate shoes for every Ballroom, Latin and social dance occasion.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
PD800 NET generally fits true to size and is best suited to slim to medium-width feet.
Adjustable Hold
The adjustable strap lets you refine the fit through the instep and ankle, helping keep the heel securely positioned during turns and directional changes.
Wider Feet
Dancers with wider feet may prefer approximately half a size larger for additional forefoot comfort.
PD800 NET Fit Note
This style should feel neatly fitted rather than loose. With an open-toe dance shoe, avoid leaving excessive room beyond the toes or allowing the foot to slide forward inside the shoe.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Dance shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
